Doa Hogye-dong Korean Pub Review
A review of Doa, a new Korean-style pub near Hogye Intersection, with warm atmosphere, 17:00-02:00 hours, barley tea, sous-vide pork jowl suyuk hot pot, chicken-skin gyoza dumplings, events, and indoor restroom notes.
Hi, this is Izzingne. I decided to have a drink near home with a friend for the first time in a while. I was grateful my friend came all the way to my neighborhood. A new Korean-style pub had opened, so we went straight there.

This is Doa, a Hogye-dong izakaya-style Korean pub. It is near Hogye Intersection and is a newly opened bar. The exterior already had such a good atmosphere. I love this kind of warm feeling, and I think I will come often in fall and winter for a hot pot.
Hours: 17:00-02:00. Last order: 01:00. It is right in front of Hogye Intersection, so access is excellent. A neighborhood pub open until 2 in the morning feels rare.

They first served cool barley tea. It was so hot outside, so this was perfect. I need water when I drink, and I love places that serve barley tea or hovenia tea.

Sous-vide pork jowl suyuk hot pot, white broth Chicken-skin gyoza dumplings
This is what we ordered. Hot pot plus dumplings is such a good combination.
Doa also has an Instagram story tag event and a Naver receipt event. They provide a drink or highball, so join in after enjoying the food.

The inside was very spacious. Most seats were for four people, with a few two-person seats and a cute counter area. There were many kinds of alcohol too, from draft beer to various spirits.

The basic snack was cabbage salad with a nutty sauce.

The pork jowl suyuk came out very quickly. The meat was really tender and delicious. The water parsley aroma was clear, and there were plenty of bean sprouts inside, so eating generous bites of vegetables and meat felt hearty and satisfying.

For the sous-vide pork jowl suyuk, you could choose the broth. I wanted a clean hot pot, so I ordered the white broth. Next time, when I want something spicy, I will order the red broth. I am sure there are not many pubs nearby that serve pork jowl suyuk. You would probably have to go to Beomgye or Pyeongchon Station, so I highly recommend this menu.

Around the time the pork jowl suyuk started bubbling, the chicken-skin gyoza dumplings came out too. These were amazing. Because they are wrapped in chicken skin, they were chewy and full of juices.

You can see the gloss, right? This menu was so tender, chewy, and delicious. After trying these two dishes, I felt this was definitely a pub worth revisiting.

The restroom is inside, which I really liked, and it was kept clean. The owner and staff were all kind, so I had a pleasant drink. Next time, I want to come back and try other dishes. #HogyeDongPub #HogyeDongIzakaya #HogyeDongBeer #AnyangHotPot #HogyeMarketIzakaya #HogyeRestaurant #HogyeDongRestaurant #HogyeDongHotPot #HogyeSideDishPub
