Bueongi Sanjang Bumgye: Gopdoritang Pub in Anyang
A local review of Bueongi Sanjang Bumgye, a Korean pub near Bumgye Station Exit 2 in Anyang. The reviewer recommends the gopdoritang with gopchang and the cheese shredded potato pancake, plus notes on hours, parking, traditional liquor, group seating, and rest

Hello! Today I visited Bueongi Sanjang, a Korean food spot in Bumgye. It is also a great fit if you are looking for a group-friendly pub in Bumgye. The interior is spacious, the atmosphere is nice, and it seemed like the kind of place people choose for company dinners and meetups.

The location is about a 3-minute walk from Bumgye Station Exit 2, so it is easy to get to from the station. It is also on a main street, which makes it easy to find. 📍 Hours Weekdays: 16:00-03:00 Last order: 02:00 Friday and Saturday: 16:00-06:00 Last order: 05:00 📍 Parking Parking is not available. It is better to use a nearby public parking lot.

The whole interior uses a lot of wood, so it has a warm feeling. Just like the name suggests, the lodge-like mood is one of the charms here, and it is a place I have visited often. On a previous visit, I had a birthday party here for a friend whose birthday was in winter. We took photos in a spot where the lighting was a little brighter, and the pictures came out really well. The lighting does all the work here. If you love selfies, this is your sign.

Gopdoritang with gopchang Cheese shredded potato pancake
This is my personal set menu that I order every time I go to Bueongi Sanjang. The combination of these two dishes is seriously the best: spicy, sharp gopdoritang and a crispy shredded potato pancake that is packed with cheese inside. It is a delicious pairing, so I really recommend trying it.

Bueongi Sanjang has regular alcoholic drinks, but it is also strong on traditional Korean liquor. There were familiar options, and there were also many drinks I had not known before. There were some I wanted to try, but since I was with quite a few friends that day, I saved them for next time. I thought the price range was pretty good, and I especially liked that they had many makgeolli and takju options. They also have many kinds of jeon, so those would pair well with makgeolli. With this much variety, it would be fun to choose something different each time. For a Korean-style pub, the traditional liquor and makgeolli lineup matters, and when the selection is this varied, it makes me want to come back. Next time, I want to try a more distinctive makgeolli with a jeon I have not ordered before.

The gopdoritang came out first. It had a good amount of gopchang and boneless chicken thigh, plus minari, rice cakes, and enoki mushrooms. They said we could eat it as soon as it came to a boil, but I recommend letting it boil for about 5 more minutes after it starts bubbling. The broth becomes richer and tastes much better.

The chicken thigh pieces were large, and the gopchang tasted clean without any unpleasant smell. Eating the chicken and gopchang together with the spicy broth made it perfect as drinking food. The wide flat glass noodles were also a great touch. Most of all, the broth was excellent.
For the cheese shredded potato pancake, cutting it with scissors is the best way to eat it. There is so much cheese inside that the pancake is very thick, so it does not separate easily with chopsticks. Use scissors and make it easy on yourself. If you cut it while it is still hot, the cheese stretches beautifully even after cutting. I liked cutting off pieces whenever I wanted one, so it stayed crispy and moist until the end.

You can see it, right? It looked like mozzarella-style cheese, and there was a generous amount inside. The fact that it came with green onion kimchi made me think, yes, this place is the real deal. The ketchup pairing was sweet and tasty too, and green onion kimchi needs no explanation. Gopdoritang may be the main dish at Bueongi Sanjang, but I strongly recommend this cheese potato pancake.

If you boil the gopdoritang a little longer, the broth gets deeper, and the flavor soaks into the chicken and gopchang, making it even better. Be patient and let it simmer well before eating.

Bueongi Sanjang Bumgye also had such a pretty interior. For a first-round drinking spot in Bumgye, it is hard to beat. The weather was still chilly, so a hot pot of gopdoritang with a glass of soju felt just right. The food tasted more specialized than a typical chain-style place. It felt like they put real care into the anju, so I would feel confident recommending it.

When I was paying, I noticed stick mouthwash in an owl cup. I took one and tried it, and it really helped refresh that “I want to brush my teeth” feeling after eating red, spicy broth. Many pubs in Bumgye are great, but the restrooms are often not ideal. Bueongi Sanjang uses an entire floor, so it has its own restroom area, and it was very clean and well managed. With clean restrooms separated for men and women, I recommend it as a Bumgye pub for date courses as well as drinking meetups with a larger group. #BumgyeRestaurants #BumgyeGroups #BumgyeStationGroupSeating #Gopdoritang #BumgyeMeetupSpot #BumgyePub #BumgyePubRecommendation #BumgyeDakdoritang #AnyangDakdoritang #AnyangDakbokkeumtang #BumgyeKoreanPub #BumgyeKoreanPocha #BumgyeJeon #BumgyeTraditionalLiquor #BumgyeMakgeolli
