Gichatgil Yeop Pojangmacha Anyang: Gwanak Station Outdoor Pub
A first visit to Gichatgil Yeop Pojangmacha in front of Gwanak Station Exit 2 in Anyang, with outdoor seating, Friday queues, mussel soup and spicy chicken feet.
Hi! Today I’m sharing an outdoor-drinking spot in Anyang. It was my first visit, and it’s right in front of Gwanak Station in Anyang. I was surprised by how close it is to the station, but that actually made it very easy to get to.

It is right in front of Gwanak Station — you can see it when you come out of Exit 2. It is a pub with indoor seats, full outdoor seating, and a semi-outdoor area. The weather was nice, so we went straight for the outdoor tables. Since I visited after work on a Friday, I was a little worried about the wait. Luckily, when I arrived, there were still a few outdoor seats left, while the semi-outdoor seats were almost full. I got there around 6:00 p.m., and by about 6:30 p.m. it was full. After that, there was a queue the whole time until I left. If you’re planning to go, I recommend arriving early. I also heard it can be busier on weekdays than weekends, probably because it is not in a big nightlife district; nearby office workers stop by after work and locals know the place. But with weather like this, it gets busy anytime.

Honghap-tang (mussel soup) Buldakbal (spicy chicken feet)
Gichatgil Yeop Pojangmacha has been known for its raw fish, but I had eaten raw fish the day before, so after some debating I ordered classic soju snacks instead. Soup felt essential, so I chose honghap-tang and spicy buldakbal.

I couldn’t take photos inside because there were so many people. The blue tables are the full outdoor seats, and behind them is the semi-outdoor area. If it feels cold at night, you can sit there or move inside. The old-school local pocha feeling was really strong. It is right next to the road, but it is screened off enough that eating there did not feel uncomfortable.

The portion of honghap-tang was really generous. The broth was clean, refreshing, and tasty — like a cool taste of the sea. I was half excited and half nervous about the chicken feet because it was buldakbal, but it was not as spicy as I expected. It had a moderate heat, so I think it is okay to order even if you are worried about spice.

The food was good, the atmosphere was good — honestly, there was a lot to like. The one downside of eating outside is that dishes cool quickly unless they are served as a hot soup. Still, that is part of the charm of outdoor seating.

The staff were friendly, and since there are not many pubs like this nearby, I can see it becoming a big hotspot during outdoor-table season. Next time, I want to come back for the raw fish. I also heard they have egg-bearing jukkumi during webfoot octopus season, so this is definitely a place I would revisit.
