Hanyangok Pyeongchon: Galbitang and Hanwoo Gukbap in Anyang
A local review of Hanyangok Pyeongchon in Anyang, located on the 2nd floor of Doosan Venture Daim, with galbitang, hanwoo gukbap, and leaf-shaped steamed dumplings.
Hi! Today I’m sharing a hot gukbap spot. This was my first visit, and it turned out to be much tastier than I expected. I ordered galbitang and hanwoo gukbap, and the galbitang broth was seriously excellent. Highly recommended.

The location is on the 2nd floor of the Doosan Venture Daim building in Pyeongchon. Because it is inside a large building, it can be a little hard to find, but if you enter from the side shown in the photo, go up the stairs on the left and it is right in front of you. I think this is probably the main entrance. 📍Hours 10:30-20:00 Break time: 15:00-17:00 Regular closing day: Saturday It is a little unusual that the regular closing day is Saturday, but I think it may be because the upper floors are all offices and most of the nearby area is offices too. On Sundays, there are many churches around, so there were a lot of people. I went on a Sunday, and it was bustling. 📍Parking If you park in the Doosan Venture Daim building, it seems parking support may be available.

It is located on the 2nd floor. I came in through another door, so it was a bit hard for me to find, but if you come through the main entrance, you can see it right away and it is easy to find. During the lunch peak, there are sometimes waits, and I also saw waiting chairs out front.

Maybe because I arrived right at the beginning of lunchtime, I was the first customer. But as our food started coming out, customers rushed in, and by the time we left, it was full. I had no idea it was this popular!

The basic side dishes were kkakdugi, Cheongyang chili pepper, ssamjang, and garlic sauce. If the kkakdugi or kimchi at a gukbap place is not good, I usually do not want to go back, but Hanyangok’s kkakdugi was really tasty. The garlic sauce was the key point in particular. It was so good when eaten together with the meat.

Galbitang Hanwoo gukbap Ipsae mandu, or leaf-shaped dumplings
A hot bowl of galbitang, a spicy hanwoo gukbap, and chewy steamed dumplings on the side!

At first glance, the galbitang looks like it does not have many ingredients, right? But that is because the bowl is large and wide. I sprinkled on some pepper and tasted the broth first. It was refreshing and clean, and it warmed me up quickly.

When you put the garlic sauce from the basic side dishes on the galbi and eat them together, it is seriously delicious. If you come to Hanyangok for galbitang, green onion and garlic sauce on the meat are essential. And can you see the bones? The meat came off softly, and there were quite a few pieces. Long bones can be hard to eat from, which I do not love, but these were a good size and the meat came off easily. I was completely happy with Hanyangok’s galbitang.

And another special dish: hanwoo gukbap. Inside, there were plenty of ingredients, including hanwoo beef, glass noodles, bean sprouts, and more. The broth was spicier than I expected, in a way that made me feel refreshed. It also did not have a strong artificial-seasoning taste and felt clean, so the hanwoo gukbap was really good too.

I liked it even more because there was plenty of meat. While I was eating, I noticed what the tables next to us were ordering, and it seemed like half were ordering hanwoo gukbap and half were ordering galbitang. It is hard to choose which one is better. Both were excellent.

The ipsae mandu came out freshly steamed and hot. They were very chewy and packed full inside. There were also 5 pieces, so ordering one gukbap per person plus this side made the meal quite generous.

Dip them lightly in the soy sauce, and they are the best. As someone who always wants a side dish when eating gukbap, this was the perfect side for me. If you are looking for a galbitang spot near Doosan Venture Daim or in Pyeongchon, I highly recommend Hanyangok. Lunch and dinner peak times can get very busy, so I recommend trying it at a suitable time. #PyeongchonStationFood #PyeongchonGroupDinner #AnyangGalbitang #PyeongchonGalbitang #AnyangHanwooGukbap #AnyangGalbitangRestaurant #AnyangGukbapRestaurant #AnyangHangoverSoup #AnyangHangoverFood #PyeongchonGukbapRestaurant
