BonBon Hogye Market Salt Bread and Sandwich Review

Hi, this is Ijjingne. I heard there was a salt bread spot near home in Hogye Market, so while visiting the market with my mom, I stopped by and packed sandwiches and salt bread.

It is really easy to find. From Hogye intersection, find KB Kookmin Bank and go into the side alley next to it; it will be on the right. The hours are 10:00-18:00. It is not only a bakery, because they also have coffee and drinks, which was nice.

They also had macarons, and they sell lunchbox cakes, fruit cakes, and macaron cakes. If you need those, it would be good to ask them.

The shop felt cozy and had one table. It looked good for a quick bite or for sitting while waiting for takeout.

They had handmade oranda too, and the gift packaging looked very nice. It seems perfect as a gift for parents, teachers, or a formal family meeting.

If you are reading this post and do not want to barely manage to buy something like I did, go early. I visited around 5 p.m., and this was the situation. I had reserved by phone in advance, so mine was just barely left, but if you are walking in, I recommend going a bit earlier than 5.

When I was paying, I noticed several QR codes. They looked useful. Also, the owner seems impressive because they personally run baking classes too. BonBon is a sandwich place I can trust.

I packed everything and headed home.

Ham cheese sandwich Two salt breads

They say there are several kinds of salt bread, but I like original salt bread best, so I chose only original. I was also really looking forward to the ham cheese sandwich. The ingredients inside looked very fresh, and the egg was soft and moist.

For dinner that day, I ate half the sandwich and one salt bread, and it was very filling. They make items on the spot and follow same-day sales. Maybe because of that, the vegetables were very fresh and the bread was not soggy, which I liked.

A cute piece of bread with a little salt on top. On the day I bought it, I just ate it without putting it in the air fryer.

The next day, I took the remaining one with me when I went out. The owner had included instructions for how to enjoy the salt bread, so I followed them and warmed it in the air fryer for 2 minutes before leaving. I opened it in the car right away, and the outside was lightly crisp while the inside was chewy and warm, like it had just come out. It felt better than eating it plain the day before. Food temperature really matters.

I did not expect to have such a good salt bread and sandwich shop near home. My mom and I go grocery shopping at Hogye Market sometimes, and I think I will buy from here every time. It was that good, so I highly recommend it.
