Aestura Atobarrier MD Cream & Lotion: 1-Year Review
A personal 1-year review of Aestura Atobarrier MD Lotion and Cream, covering dermatologist visits, summer vs. winter use, texture, moisture, and an Olive Young discount note.
Hi! Today I’m reviewing one of my genuine Olive Young recommendations: Aestura Atobarrier MD Cream and Lotion. This is an honest review after using both the lotion and cream for more than a year. First, my skin type is like this: - Oily T-zone - Dry cheeks, with keratosis pilaris and small acne-like bumps - Some redness on my cheeks

I first visited a dermatologist because of keratosis pilaris and small bumps on my cheeks. The treatment that was most recommended was laser treatment, but the cost was not small, and I was a bit scared to do laser on my face. So I asked whether there was any way to improve it with medicine or products, and the doctor suggested that I first try managing it with Atobarrier MD Cream.

When I visited, it was summer. The cream is more effective for moisturizing, but it can feel a bit heavy, so I was prescribed the lotion instead. Around the time I was almost finished with the lotion, fall arrived, so I visited the dermatologist again. That time, I was also prescribed the cream.

Because the lotion comes in a plastic container, it is hard to see how much is left from the outside. But you can see that the cream is almost finished, right? This really is a review written after using it for more than a year, so you can trust that I’ve used it properly.

At Olive Young, it is also well known as a moisturizing cream. When I visited Olive Young, I noticed that it was being promoted a lot for moisture care. After using it myself, the moisturizing power really was strong. I applied it as the final step of my skincare routine, and it made my skin feel firm and hydrated without any sticky feeling. It felt like it held in just the moisture. I was surprised, because that kind of finish is not easy to find in a cream.
Looking at the lotion texture first, it is not extremely watery. In summer, applying cream can feel too heavy. But when you still want to take care of moisture, I recommend the lotion. The lotion is also very moisturizing, so I recommend the lotion for summer.
Next is the cream. The cream comes in a squeezable tube. When you rub it in, tiny granules inside pop lightly. I feel like those play the main role in moisturizing. When cold winds blow in fall and winter, there is nothing quite like it. It has become an essential item for the final step of my basic skincare routine. There is a reason I have used it consistently for more than a year.
If you compare the two textures, you can tell right away: Lotion = summer Cream = fall and winter Here is one tip. If your T-zone gets slightly oily like mine, boldly skip the final lotion or cream on that area. At first, I applied it all over my face because I thought, “I need to moisturize!” But then I saw that overdoing moisture care can be one reason T-zone oiliness does not settle down. So for my nose, I boldly stop at the ampoule step. After doing that, my blackheads definitely seemed to decrease, and my overall facial balance felt better. If you have the same skin type as me, I recommend trying this method.

For any type of dry skin, moisture care is important. So I recommend starting with Aestura Atobarrier MD Cream and Lotion for moisturizing care. The Olive Young link mentioned below had a big discount at the time of writing. This is a strongly recommended item, so I hope you try it.
