Busan Gaya Milmyeon in Gyeongju: Milmyeon Near Daereungwon
A repeat visitor’s review of Busan Gaya Milmyeon in Gyeongju, near Daereungwon and Haejangguk Street. The menu is simple: water milmyeon, bibim milmyeon and extra noodles, with visit notes on hours, closure days and parking.
Hi! Today I’m sharing a review of Busan Gaya Milmyeon, which I visited on my last trip to Gyeongju. Every time I go to Gyeongju, I make sure to stop at this milmyeon place. I’ve been to Gyeongju more than 20 times, and this is one of my truly recommended favorites. Maybe it was remodeled, because the exterior looked much cleaner, and the location seems to have changed from around the neighboring building. It is my favorite milmyeon spot. If you come at lunchtime in summer, there is definitely a wait. I visited a little earlier than lunch this time and luckily got in without waiting.

The restaurant is near Daereungwon, right in front of Haejangguk Street. There are many other milmyeon places nearby, but I always end up coming here. 📍 Hours 10:30–20:00 Last order: 19:30 Closed every Wednesday Winter closure: November, December, January and February 📍 Parking Parking is not available, so it is best to use a nearby public parking lot. I happened to find parking nearby and went in.

Then came the very reliable-looking menu. Water milmyeon, bibim milmyeon and extra noodles — that’s it. There are no side menu items; this place only sells milmyeon. Warm broth is prepared separately near the entrance, so you can help yourself.

I basically ordered everything on the menu: water milmyeon, bibim milmyeon and an extra noodle portion. The extra noodles come in a smaller bowl, and the amount looked just right for a child. Still, aside from the smaller portion, it comes out almost like a regular bowl of milmyeon. If you are very hungry, adding it seems like a good idea — happiness for 1,500 won.

The broth had little ice crystals floating in it. The toppings were generous, and there was plenty of seasoning. The broth flavor was honestly the best. For milmyeon, water milmyeon is the classic choice, but the bibim version here is also delicious. It is fairly spicy!

The added noodle portion tasted the same. Just put it straight into the milmyeon you ordered and mix it together. The noodles were chewy and so good.

I liked that it stayed cool until the very end. As I was eating, more and more people came in, so I finished quickly and left. If you are looking for milmyeon for lunch in Gyeongju, I highly recommend this place.
