A personal open-run visit to Tokkine Bread near Gwanyang Market in Anyang, with waiting tips, bread release-time notes, and impressions of salt bread and squid-ink cheese ciabatta.

Today I visited Tokkine Bread, a bakery many people consider a bread-pilgrimage spot in Anyang. Tokkine Bread is very well known, so I had been waiting for a chance to go, and this was my first visit. Just as its reputation suggests, there was still a line even though I went for an opening-run visit. The salt bread was really delicious, too. It made me wonder why I had waited so long to go.

Tokkine Bread is on a corner near Gwanyang Market in Anyang, in the shopping strip directly across from the main gate of Hyundai Apartment. 📍 Hours 10:00–19:00 Closed Mondays and Thursdays 📍 Parking There was no separate parking information, and when I visited, there did not seem to be much suitable parking space. I recommend visiting by public transport or on foot.

Near the shop entrance, the bread release times were posted by bread type. I timed my visit for around 10:00, when the salt bread comes out. If there is a specific bread you want, it is really helpful that the times are written in advance so you can plan your visit. They also had tips posted for how to enjoy the bread.

The good thing, even with a wait, is that the line moves quickly. There is no dine-in service, and it is a takeout-only bakery. You choose the bread you want and tell the counter. The staff check the type and quantity, then pack everything for you. Since the line moves faster than expected, arriving about 10 minutes before the bread release time seems ideal if you want a specific item. The baking area was also fully visible and open, which made it feel reassuring.

At the first part of the bread-picking route, there is a beverage showcase. If you want a drink, it could be nice to buy one together. For reference, there is no cafe menu here. It is a bakery that sells only bread.

I could see pretzels, bagels, Tokki-bang, loaf bread, baguettes, ciabatta, and more.

More ciabatta here. I bought the squid-ink cheese ciabatta, and the ciabatta here was delicious. I thought only the salt bread was famous, but that was not the case. It had quite a lot of cheese inside, and the soft texture was memorable.

There were plenty of tasty-looking breads, including salt bread, scones, bagels, croissants, and garlic baguettes. Salt bread is a must-buy here. The customers ahead of me were buying five at a time. I heard that if you freeze them and reheat them in an air fryer, they taste just as good as freshly baked bread.

After buying everything, I took a proof shot in front of the shop. I bought a little extra because I was thinking of freezing some. Even though it is still in Anyang, it is a little far for me, so since I had made the trip, I stocked up. Because the bread is still good after freezing and reheating, I bought lots of the items I had wanted to try.

Tokkine Bread seems to have a lot of people whenever you go, so the best plan is to visit according to the release time of the bread you want. Most of the breads I bought were delicious, and the prices were not bad either. I would recommend stopping by if you are looking for a bakery in Anyang. #AnyangBakery #AnyangBreadSpot #AnyangBreadPilgrimage #AnyangGwanyangMarketFood #GwanyangMarketBakery #AnyangSaltBread #TokkineBread #AnyangCroissant
