Sanbon Sogul Rodeo Bar Review With Pork Kimchi Stew
A review of Sanbon Sogul in Sanbon Rodeo, a casual hideout-style bar near Wongwang University Hospital with sports screens, a smoking booth, fried hardtack, pork kimchi stew, and soju.
After work, I went to Sanbon Rodeo for a quick drink. The place was Sanbon Sogul. The interior felt like a hideout decorated by friends, with a hip and friendly mood, so the drinking experience was pleasant.

It is inside Sanbon Rodeo, close to the Wongwang University Hospital side and near the well-known Jongno Bindaetteok in Sanbon. The listed hours are 17:00 to 01:30, and it is closed every Monday. Also after 01:30 closing, they wait until guests leave.

The wall that stood out as soon as I entered was very pretty. I wanted to ask whether they drew it themselves but missed the timing.

There was also a large screen inside, so you could watch sports broadcasts. During our visit, they were playing Premier League. The tables were wide and the chairs had backrests, so it was comfortable.

There is a smoking booth inside. We happened to sit near it, but I barely noticed any cigarette smell, so the ventilation seemed good. Next to the booth, guests could doodle with marker pens, and I had fun writing there with my friend.

Order list: pork kimchi stew with soft tofu and soju.
Because our drink is almost always soju, we chose a soup dish. It was pork kimchi stew with soft tofu, and it was really good.

The basic snack was fried hardtack. I usually do not eat hardtack because it feels dry, but fried with sugar on top, it was surprisingly delicious. I kept eating it before the main dish arrived. Other reviews suggested the basic snack changes daily, which makes me curious about a return visit.

The pork kimchi stew came generously in a deep pot. It had lots of enoki mushrooms, plenty of pork, and a whole pack of soft tofu, so it felt very filling. Waiting for it to boil was difficult because it looked so good.

Thanks to the stew, which paired perfectly with soju, we each had a bottle before happily heading out for a second round. There are many bars around Sanbon Station, but this was the first I had seen with this kind of concept. I recommend it for people looking for a hip-feeling bar.

Also recommends checking Instagram for events before visiting. There were many customer Polaroids on the wall, which added to the friendly local-bar feeling.
