Haemuljeom Pyeongchon: Seafood Pocha Near Pyeongchon Station
A third-visit review of Haemuljeom Pyeongchon Branch, a cozy seafood pocha about 30 seconds from Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, with notes on hours, parking, reservations, winter seafood, and the dishes ordered.

Hello! Today I’m writing about Haemuljeom Pyeongchon Branch (해물점 평촌점), a place near Pyeongchon Station that I’ve already visited three times. It’s a chain, but the Pyeongchon location was my first time trying it. The place is cozy, the owner is kind, and most importantly, the food is genuinely delicious.

The location is about a 30-second walk from Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, so it’s very easy to visit by subway. 📍 Hours 15:00-24:00 Closed on the last Sunday of every month. 📍 Parking Parking is not available. It is more convenient to use a nearby public parking lot.

I made a reservation before visiting. Pyeongchon Station has many office workers on weekdays, so it can actually be hard to get a seat on a weekday. Because I reserved ahead, they had the table nicely set with candles. I felt so good as soon as I walked in.

The atmosphere felt like an old-school pocha, or maybe the cozy main room at a grandmother’s house in the countryside. That doesn’t mean the facilities felt worn down; it clearly felt like intentional interior design. It was a pleasant, comfortable pocha with a good vibe, so it seemed suitable for gatherings, dates, casual drinks, and more.

The floor, cushions, and tables all had that grandmother’s-house style, which was so cute. The interior is unique, so it’s fun to look around every corner, especially the posters. A lot of them are funny if you read them. Since it was winter, taking off my shoes was a little annoying, but I chose the warm heated-floor seating anyway. With drinks added in, I started feeling relaxed and sleepy, like I was really visiting my grandmother’s house for a holiday.

They served ma juice, or yam juice, as a welcome drink. They said drinking alcohol on an empty stomach can make you feel unwell, so they bring this as a welcome drink. Such a thoughtful bar.

I noticed winter-only seasonal items that weren’t there when I visited in summer: cockles and oysters. Since this is a seafood pocha, it really shines even more in winter.

Abalone and Clam Clear Soup Algoni Noodles, or fish roe and gon-i noodles Grilled Pollock Roe
I chose dishes I hadn’t tried on my previous visits. I ordered the hot abalone and clam clear soup, the spicy algoni noodles, and grilled pollock roe that seemed perfect as anju, or drinking food. Alcoholic drinks and soft drinks are self-service, so you take them out yourself.

The food started coming out one by one after about 10 minutes. They served the hot soup, noodles, and grilled dish in that order. The visuals were amazing. The portions were generous, and the plating was so pretty for a pocha.

The hot broth was spicy in a clean, refreshing way, and the abalone and clams were so plump and fresh. It was a perfect match with soju. It was spicier than I expected, but that spicy flavor was good, so I kept going back for more. The broth was truly excellent. This is exactly the kind of menu I recommend for winter.

The algoni noodles had a rather unique broth. It was a flavor I hadn’t tried before, and it tasted good to me. There were lots of noodles, and they went well with the crown daisy. I slurped them up so quickly that I felt sad when they disappeared. There was also plenty of roe and gon-i. They were tender and tasty. I had only eaten roe and gon-i in steamed dishes before, but having them together with noodles and broth was delicious too.

The grilled pollock roe came with large, plump pieces of myeongnan. I ate each piece on cucumber, and when I added mayonnaise and wasabi, it wasn’t greasy at all. It was excellent.
There are many bars in Pyeongchon, but this feels like the only pocha here that does seafood this well. Next time, I want to come back for the signature Bada Han Sang. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious drinking spot in Pyeongchon. #AnyangBar #AnyangPocha #AnyangRestaurant #RealFoodFind #HonestReview #SecondRoundDrinks #DateSpot #WeddingInvitationGathering #CompanyDinner #BlindDate #YearEndGathering #PyeongchonBar #PyeongchonStationBar #PyeongchonRestaurant #PyeongchonSeafood #PyeongchonSeafoodPocha #PyeongchonSteamedOysters #PyeongchonCockles
