Kyoto Arashiyama Randen Coin Locker Price Guide
A practical guide to using coin lockers at Arashiyama Randen Station in Kyoto, including the location, locker prices, QR receipt pickup method, and 9:00 to 18:00 use time.
When I traveled to Kyoto, I used the coin lockers at Arashiyama Station, so this is how to use them. Other stations work in a similar way. I planned Arashiyama for my final day, packed my luggage at the accommodation, and headed to Arashiyama Randen with my suitcase.
The location is Arashiyama Randen, the station with Kimono Forest. There is also a Hankyu station nearby, so it can be a little confusing, but this is Arashiyama Randen Station.

After getting off the train and handing in the ticket, turn right immediately and you will see this view. Go into the left side and the coin lockers are there.

Arashiyama was very crowded, but the Randen Station coin lockers were said to be a little quieter than other stations. When I went, many lockers were empty. The green lights showed available lockers.

Storing and retrieving luggage is simple, and a Korean language setting is available. The largest locker, big enough for a large suitcase, was 700 yen. Medium lockers were 400 or 500 yen, and the smallest lockers were 200 yen. I used the 700 yen locker, and a large suitcase fit inside.

The use time was 9:00 to 18:00. Put your luggage into an empty locker, close the door, select it on the screen, and pay. A receipt with a QR code comes out, and you must keep it to retrieve your luggage.

When picking up your luggage, hold the QR receipt to the scanner below the screen and the locker opens. You can only retrieve luggage once with the QR code, so pack carefully before closing the door.

When you press the retrieval option, the screen asks you to scan the QR code, and the door opens right away. This station is a convenient place to store luggage and enjoy Arashiyama.
