Yongsan Odeng Bar Review: Weekend Wait on Yongridan-gil
I finally visited Yongsan Odeng on Yongridan-gil, a popular open-air-style odeng bar around a 10-minute walk from Yongsan Station. Here is the weekend Catch Table wait, hours, no-parking note, and what we ordered.
Hi! Today I finally visited Yongsan Odeng, one of the currently popular odeng bars in Yongsan. After pushing through a seriously tough wait, I made it in at last. I had been curious every time I came to Yongsan, so even though it was the weekend, I decided to try. They open up the tent-like covering like an outdoor drinking setup, which makes the place feel even prettier. On days like these, it is exactly the kind of spot people want to visit.

The location is Yongridan-gil. I went by subway, and the walk was manageable. From Yongsan Station, it felt like about 10 minutes on foot. Go into the Seokam Saeng Sogeumgui alley in front of the pedestrian overpass, keep walking straight, and you will see it on the right. Hours 16:30-24:00 Sat-Sun: 16:00-24:00 Parking Separate parking is not available.

Catch Table I made a booking or waitlist through Catch Table in advance. Same-day Catch Table opens at 16:00. I started refreshing around 15:55 just in case, and it opened around 15:58, so I recommend preparing early. When I first joined, I was around number 25, which felt pretty fast. But after meeting a friend and having our route and timing get tangled, I postponed twice, and then the timing did not line up. We did eventually get in, but in total it was about a 4-hour wait. If you use the postponement option, you may end up waiting longer than expected, so choose carefully. I took a photo when I arrived in front of the shop. I had never seen numbers like that on Catch Table before, so it was interesting. The popularity really was no joke.

Once our turn was almost here, we waited about 30 minutes in front of the shop. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, but personally I do not think it is something I would wait 3-4 hours for. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Since it was nighttime and a little chilly, I started with odeng broth and one piece of konjac. The konjac was quite thin compared with other odeng bars. Still, maybe because I had waited so long and was hungry, it did taste good.

I visited with one friend, so we could not get a regular table and sat side by side instead. The odeng broth is assigned by table, so you are not sharing it with other guests.

Yukhoe + yuksashimi set Draft beer
After thinking over the menu, we ordered the yukhoe and yuksashimi set. I was curious about the other dishes too, but we were planning to go for a second round afterward, so we ordered just one main item and ate it with the odeng. For something ordered at an odeng bar, the yuksashimi was pleasantly chewy and tasty. The portion was not large, though.

We ate while having glasses mixed with draft beer and soju. My friend lives in Yongsan but said this was their first time finally visiting too. If even a local resident has a hard time coming here, that says something. The atmosphere was good, so the drinks went down easily.

They also served gamtae seaweed, so I tried wrapping it with wasabi, and that combination was really nice. There were several sauces to pair with the food, so it did not get boring. I finally visited Yongsan Odeng, an Instagram-famous Yongsan hot spot. The wait was honestly tough. If you are the type who does not mind waiting, it may be worth trying. As for me, I might stick to my neighborhood odeng bar. . . . #YongsanFood #YongridanGil #YongsanOdeng #YongsanOdengBar #YongsanOutdoorDrinking #YongsanBar #YongsanStationBar #SeoulOutdoorDrinking #SeoulHotPlace #YongsanHotPlace
