Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong Hair Salon: Long Hair Color Review

Hello! Today I’m sharing a full hair-color review. I visited Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong, a Sanbon/Gunpo-area hair salon. My hair had been lightened to a brighter color in the fall, and I booked a visit because I wanted to tone it back down.

These are the before-and-after photos. Designer Jihyo at Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong handled my service. She toned the color down neatly without damaging my hair. She considered how the color would fade later, chose a base that suited my skin tone better, and mixed the color accordingly. It was an almost-black brown with a slight ash tone, and it looked pretty both indoors and outdoors. Maybe because it’s winter, dark hair really does look good. Jihyo matched it perfectly.

Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong is located in an alley near Gunpo Elementary School. There is a main road and a bus stop right in front, so I also visited by bus and liked that it was close. From Geumjeong Station, it felt about 10 minutes by bus. 📍Hours 10:00–20:00 It seems to be closed only on the day of major holidays. 📍Parking Parking is possible in nearby alleys or at Gunpo 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center.

The interior was really tidy. The salon was not dark, and overall it had a white-toned look, which made it easier to check the hair color. People receiving longer services seemed to get them comfortably at the central table. Since mine was a color service and did not take that long, I stayed at my seat. They also brought me a cushion, so I could get the service comfortably.

There were various events too. If you sign up for a membership and use it in a prepaid, deduction-style way, you can use the services at a lower cost. There are also scalp and hair clinic benefits or shampoo gifts, so if you try it once and like it, the membership would be useful.

We chose the hair color while the designer showed it to me directly. I explained that I did not want it completely black, but I also did not want it to look brown. She understood right away and said we would go with shade no. 5. Considering how the color would fade, she said she would adjust the base with a slight gray tone to suit my skin tone. This is why it is best to leave it to a professional. After listening to Jihyo explain everything, I just kept saying yes, and we started immediately. She answered all the questions and worries I had, so even though it was my first visit, I could relax during the service.

My bright hair color before the service. About two months earlier, I had dyed it a bright brown, and then the roots started bothering me. Also, in winter I suddenly wanted black hair again, so I booked Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong right away.

I took one last photo of the brown hair, and then we went straight into applying the color. She applied it really carefully and quickly, which surprised me while I was sitting there. I had plans afterward and was secretly hoping it would finish a bit fast, so I was relieved that it seemed totally possible.

I visited after work and was a little hungry, and they brought me snacks and coffee. Thanks to that, I cleared the yakgwa while waiting with the color on. The coffee had been brewed for me, so it was pretty good too.

Also, Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong has an adorable white cat. I have a cat allergy, but I still love cats so much that I wanted to pet it. At first, I was startled, and after seeing that, the cat did not come to me. They said the cat is smart and does not go to guests who seem startled or who might not want to be touched. Such a clever one. I still wanted to give it some pats, so that was a little sad.

When the time was up, they rinsed my hair and dried it. While shampooing, I noticed they also applied a pack so my hair would not get damaged. Since I would not be washing my hair for a day or two, they shampooed it very thoroughly and refreshingly. They also did a simple scalp massage, so it felt like one of the most refreshing shampoos I had had in a while.

Finished! The color came out so well. I had been worried because the top part and the very ends of my hair were a bit different in color, but she evened that out beautifully too. It was close to exactly the black tone I wanted, so I was completely satisfied.

She asked whether I had plans after getting my hair done and then styled it with a blow-dry too. It felt like princess hair. On normal days I’m busy and rush out after quickly using an Airwrap, so I cannot get this kind of natural, airy look. A professional touch really is different. I also learned blow-drying tips from Jihyo, and she carefully explained how I should care for my hair from now on, so I’m going to try to follow it.

These are the shampoo and conditioner they gave me at the end. Since my hair was colored, they provided products to help protect it. It had been a long time since I visited a place that cared this much about aftercare. From before the service to the process and the finish, I was satisfied with everything. For reference, Jihyo was also quick with her hands, so it felt less tiring. I can see why Plan H Gunpo Dang-dong has a high revisit rate.
