Hon Chamchi Gunpo: Unlimited Tuna near Dangjeong Station
A review of Hon Chamchi near Dangjeong Station in Gunpo, covering the Special tuna course with refills, private rooms, bar seating, parking, hours, and side dishes.

Hello! Today I’m introducing a tuna restaurant in Gunpo that felt especially good for bringing parents. I was satisfied too, but my parents liked it even more. The owner was very kind, and because he said it was nice that I had brought my parents, he generously added extra service items. It felt like a warm, hospitable place.

The location is near Dangjeong Station. 📍 Hours 17:00–23:00 Saturday: 16:00–23:00 Closed every Sunday 📍 Parking Parking is available in the underground parking lot, and the review says you can park without a time limit until your meal is finished. The barrier at the underground parking entrance does not open automatically. Call the restaurant and tell them you are visiting Hon Chamchi, and the owner will open it remotely right away. After parking, go up to the second floor. There is an elevator.

I had told them in advance that three people would be visiting, and they guided us to a private room. There seemed to be about four or five rooms, and bar seating is also available. There were quite a few guests drinking alone at the bar too. It really did feel like a known tuna spot.

Before the meal, they first set out black sesame porridge and jangguk soup. The porridge was nutty and tasty. Before eating raw fish, having a little porridge makes the stomach feel more comfortable. Hon Chamchi’s porridge was savory and good.

Special course for 3 people
We ordered the Special course. Refills are available. It comes out course-style, and the reviewer felt that a price of around 40,000 KRW per person was reasonable.
Hon Chamchi was also running a review event. If you write a Naver review, they offer one free bottle of soju. Since tuna and drinks go well together, the reviewer recommends joining the event.

They served several side dishes, nostalgic pink sausage, braised radish, and tuna sushi. Pink sausage is the kind of side dish you think of from time to time, so seeing it here was nice. It had been a while, and it tasted good.

The sushi was good too. Sushi was also listed on the menu, and it made sense—the rice had a pleasantly sticky texture, and the tuna sushi was delicious.

The tuna was served thawed to a good temperature, and the owner carefully explained the different cuts. He said the tuna tastes even better with salt that he had personally prepared by removing the bittern over several years, and with shiitake wasabi sauce.

The salt was clean and tasty, but the shiitake wasabi sauce was also unusual and full of umami. It cut through the richness, added texture, and suited my taste even more than the salt.

While we were eating tuna, more dishes kept coming out. They served two portions of fluffy steamed egg, and the grilled ginkgo and mushrooms were tasty too. They were just right as simple snacks with drinks.

The owner brought out a warm cabbage jeon, saying it was pan-fried in a clean, simple style and best eaten while hot. There was so much care in it, and the taste was excellent. This was my second visit to Hon Chamchi, and every time I come, the owner is great. It makes a return visit feel inevitable.

Just as we were getting close to finishing the first platter, the owner noticed and brought out the second platter so there would be no gap. The second platter included several cuts different from the earlier ones, along with some of the popular cuts from the first platter. The tuna head meat was chewy and delicious.

Sweet corn also came out. The owner quietly placed this in front of me, which felt very thoughtful.

A softly grilled tuna steak was also served. You could see the juices inside. It was rich, oily, and very tender. It may be a little heavy, but that is part of the appeal of grilled tuna. Add a little wasabi on top and it is perfect.

By this point, I felt like I was about to burst. The food kept coming, and this time it was shrimp tempura and sweet potato tempura. The frying was crisp and savory, so even though I was full, I still managed to eat it all.

The truly final dish was shrimp soup. It had a flavor similar to Saewootang cup noodles, but a much more elevated version. It even had udon inside, so it felt perfect as a finishing meal. Ending with hot soup made the meal feel complete. The overall course was excellent.

I was incredibly full, but I thought the owner might be disappointed if even one piece was left, so we finished the entire second platter before getting up. If you are looking for a tuna restaurant in Gunpo, this is highly recommended for business meals, casual gatherings, dates, or company dinners, especially because it has rooms. Make a note to try one piece of tuna with the shiitake wasabi sauce. #HonChamchi #GunpoTuna #TunaRestaurant #DangDongRestaurants #DangDongTuna #GunpoUnlimitedTuna #TunaCompanyDinner #SanbonTuna #SanbonTunaRestaurant #SanbonDinnerRecommendation #GunpoDinnerRecommendation
