Gogidori Geumjeong: Cream Sundaeguk Near Geumjeong Station
A Gunpo lunch review of Gogidori near Geumjeong Station Exit 2, featuring cream sundae-guk, spicy sundae-guk, perilla oil makguksu, parking, and a self-service side bar.
Hi! I heard about a slightly unusual sundae-guk spot near Geumjeong Station and even made a reservation before going. Gogidori serves duruchigi and sundae-guk, but I visited at lunch because I wanted a warm hangover-style meal.

The location is behind Geumjeong Station in Gunpo. From Geumjeong Station Exit 2, it is about a 2-minute walk. Parking: there is space for about two to three cars right in front of the restaurant. When I arrived, the area was blocked off, but if you tell the owner, they make room so you can park. Hours: 06:00–23:30. It opens early every day and stays open late, so it felt easy to visit at many times of day.

I liked that there were several kinds of sundae-guk. The cream sundae-guk I was most curious about was on the menu too. The main dishes seemed to be chicken neck meat hot pot, chicken neck meat duruchigi, and kkodeulsal duruchigi. Side options included makguksu, kongguksu, pyeonyuk, and sundae. Since there are noodle dishes that children could eat, it also seemed suitable for a family meal.

To warm up for hangover relief, I chose spicy sundae-guk. I also ordered the cream sundae-guk that I had heard was a specialty. For the side, I debated between sundae, pyeonyuk, and noodles, but the perilla oil makguksu looked good, so I ordered these three.

After ordering, the basic side dishes were set out. Everything looked very neat: kimchi, kkakdugi, musaengchae, plus saeujeot and dadaegi for the gukbap. I brought chili peppers and onion from the self-service bar.

If you needed more side dishes, you could get them from the self-service bar. Rice came with the basic setting, and after finishing the included rice, there was extra rice at the self-service bar. Bigger eaters should be able to eat enough at Gogidori Geumjeong Branch.

The first dish to arrive was the spicy sundae-guk. It had a very generous amount of sundae and meat inside. Just as the name suggests, it tasted spicy and refreshing, which made it perfect for hangover recovery.

The cream sundae-guk I had been waiting for! From the appearance, it looked almost like a rich gomtang or even cream pasta. This is genuinely a special dish, so I would recommend trying it.

There were three things I liked most. First, the broth: it was nutty, thick, and really delicious, while still clean and not greasy at all. Then there was the bunmoja. Flower-shaped bunmoja inside sundae-guk—really? As someone who loves chewy textures, bunmoja in the cream broth was so good. Cream sundae-guk was already unusual, and adding bunmoja made it my favorite. Lastly, the somyeon noodles worked well with the white broth and were good with the meat too. The meat, sundae, somyeon, bunmoja, and broth all fit together so well that I kept being impressed while eating.

So good. Sundae with somyeon was delicious, and meat with bunmoja was delicious too. There were large pieces of Cheongyang chili inside, so it tasted clean and refreshing rather than heavy. I think I will come back regularly because I keep thinking about it. The name may sound unusual, but it was not strange at all—trust me and try it.

I really picked the best combination—credit to myself. If you usually like cream pasta, definitely try this. The spicy sundae-guk was also good enough to stand on its own.

The perilla oil makguksu added savory flavor between bites. It was nutty and moist with a gentle perilla oil aroma, and I would absolutely add it as a side. Even when full, I kept eating it. I do not know how many times I said “this is good” during this meal. The owner was very kind, the food came out quickly, and because there are many offices nearby, I imagine weekdays can get busy. It works for hangover food, lunch, or dinner—especially the cream sundae-guk. #GeumjeongStationRestaurant #AKGeumjeongFood #AKGeumjeongLunch #HogyeDongRestaurant #GunpoRestaurant #AnyangRestaurant #GeumjeongSundaeGuk #GunpoSundaeGuk #SanbonSundaeGuk #GeumjeongStationLunch #GeumjeongRestaurant #GeumjeongMeatRestaurant
