Mullae Pub Myoun (묘운): Outdoor Seats and Bar Food
Self-paid review of Myoun in Mullae, a busy pub with limited outdoor tables and indoor seating. The order included minari suji-tang, beef belly mala xiangguo, egg fried rice, draft beer, and soju.
Hello from Ijjingne! Today my friends and I decided to meet halfway, so we met in Mullae. Now that everyone is working, an easy place to get to matters more than chasing only the hottest spots. It was my first time in Mullae, and I really liked the atmosphere in the alleys. I spotted so many pubs I want to try that I think we may meet in Mullae more often from now on.

The pub we visited that day was Myoun (묘운) in Mullae. It had outdoor seating, and the interior went quite deep, so there seemed to be plenty of seats, but the wait was still pretty long. We visited at 6 p.m. on a Friday. Luckily, we were first on the waiting list, but we still waited about 40 minutes. For reference, there seemed to be about two outdoor tables. It got really cold once night came, so we decided to sit inside and put our name down for an indoor table. The outdoor chairs did not have backrests either, so we wanted the inside even more. At one point, we thought about giving up and going somewhere else, but since we had already waited, we held out and decided to try it.

While waiting, we studied the menu carefully. Deciding what to eat in advance only made us hungrier.
Minari suji-tang, or water parsley and beef tendon soup Beef belly mala xiangguo Egg fried rice
The suji hot pot seemed to be popular, so we ordered the minari suji-tang with seasonal minari. Mala is usually a safe choice for us, so we added a beef belly mala xiangguo, then ordered egg fried rice too.

The portion was more generous than expected, and it had almost all the toppings I like. The mala flavor was just right, with a spicy and punchy taste that made it perfect as anju, food to enjoy with drinks. Eating something oily and intense like this really gave me a dopamine boost.

We had three draft beers and mixed in a little soju. Somaek with mala xiangguo is love.

The minari suji-tang was packed with ingredients like mushrooms, bean sprouts, and glass noodles. They added plenty of minari too, so it was fragrant and really nice. The broth was a hot beef bone broth.

The egg fried rice was popular with everyone. It was nicely separated and tasty, and it paired so well with the mala xiangguo.

We enjoyed the meal fully. I would recommend Myoun as a good pub to visit in Mullae. The quality of the anju was good, and even though the place was busy, the staff were friendly and pleasant. Since it has outdoor seating, I think it may become even more of a hot spot once the weather gets a little warmer.
