Kerokero Anyang Izakaya Review Near Samdeok Park
A new Anyang izakaya review near Samdeok Park and Central Market, with Sapporo oden udon, fish cake, water tteok, tofu mochi pouch, chicken-skin gyoza, and curry options.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I explored a neighborhood bar for the first time in a while. A new izakaya had opened near Samdeok Park.

Maybe because it was night, the pretty lights made the entrance stand out right away.
The location is somewhere between Anyang Samdeok Park and Central Market. It is also close to Anyang 1st Street and Daengnidan-gil. Hours: 11:50-01:00. Break time: 15:00-17:00.

Inside, there were small tables and counter seats. Since we planned to order several snacks, we sat comfortably at a table.

The menu looked like this. There were skewers, oden, and various snacks, and because there were many curry options, it seemed like curry is also one of their specialties. That must be why they open early. Curry would probably sell well at lunch. I am very curious about the Sapporo cheese curry. Note to self: come for curry at lunch next time.

Ordering is very MZ style these days. If you tap the back of your phone, the menu opens, and you can order directly from your phone. It was convenient because my friend and I could each look at the menu on our own phones, add items, and still order together.
Sapporo oden udon, chicken-skin gyoza, water tteok, tofu mochi pouch, and Saero.
Since we had eaten meat for our first round, for the second round we chose warm soup and simple snacks. We each picked one fish cake item we wanted too.

The basic snack was cute edamame. It is plain, but quietly addictive.

The Sapporo oden udon had three kinds of oden and udon inside. It lets you enjoy udon, fish cake, and hot broth all at once, so it is perfect with soju.

The udon noodles were springy, and the fish cakes were chewy and tasty.

The tofu mochi pouch I ordered had savory cheese inside and was very good. The water tteok was large, chewy, and had a great firm texture. Sometimes if it sits in broth too long it turns too soft, but Kerokero's water tteok was chewy through and through. They explained in advance that the mustard sauce had a strong mustard aroma. As someone who loves wasabi and mustard, I enjoyed it a lot.

Next came the chicken-skin gyoza. There were 6 pieces in total, and they served a side salad with it. The outside was crisp, and the rich, savory flavor of the chicken skin inside was excellent. It also went very well with the sauce they provided. I like shichimi, so I dipped it generously.

Our table was a bit messy, but I took a photo because the atmosphere was so pretty. It really had a Japanese local izakaya feel.

They said the window seats can be opened in summer and used with a terrace-like feeling, sitting front and back. That is the kind of seat I usually love, but there are not many bars in Anyang set up like this. I think it will become my regular beer spot in summer. Before summer comes, I plan to come back for curry first.
