Manbok Sundaeguk Bakdal-dong Lunch Review
A short Bakdal-dong lunch review of Manbok Sundaeguk, a focused sundae and sundae-guk spot with fast service, generous meat, self-serve side dishes, and lunch waiting memories.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I visited Manbok Sundaeguk, a real local favorite in my neighborhood. I do not usually love sundae-guk as hangover food, but Manbok Sundaeguk is great both as a meal and for hangovers. If I am going to have sundae-guk for a hangover, I only look for Manbok.

You see the menu, right? Sundae or sundae-guk. That's it. A sign of a good restaurant: one main menu.

As soon as you sit down, you call out, two sundae-guk please. Then the auntie sets the table right away.

Extra side dishes are available from the self-service corner. I like cabbage kimchi more than kkakdugi, so I refilled the cabbage kimchi once.

The food comes out within 5 minutes. It arrives bubbling, and I add more perilla powder on top. I love perilla powder, so I added about two spoonfuls.

The meat inside is very substantial and thick, and there is a lot of it.

Maybe because I ordered it without sundae, there was even more meat. A woman who orders sundae-guk but asks for no sundae.

These days Manbok Sundaeguk seems to have opened in several places, but I remember when it was only in Bakdal-dong early on and there was almost always a wait. At one point, local currency was not accepted here. The rumor was that it was not because the owner had not applied, but because sales were enormous. Anyway, that is how tasty it is, so I hope everyone tries it.
