Friends Screen Dangsan Field Yeongdeungpo Review: Why I Won't Return

Hi, this is Izzingne. I finally played screen golf in Seoul again after a while. I usually play around Anyang, but this time I ended up playing one round in Yeongdeungpo at Friends Screen Dangsan Field.

Friends Screen Dangsan Field is about a 5-minute drive from Yeongdeungpo Station, so the distance was convenient. The hours were listed as 10:00-23:00, with weekend operation until 24:00.

Parking was available on the first floor in front of the building, for about 7 to 8 cars.

Inside, it was clean and well kept. It felt cozy, but because it is on the first floor with full-height windows, it also had an open feeling.

Why I do not plan to revisit: I arrived at around 11:40 and was shown to a room. I had come because I thought that if I practiced for about 10 minutes and started before 12:00, I could play at the morning discount price of 13,000 KRW. However, I was told that they cut the time in 30-minute units, and since it was already past 11:30, even starting before 12:00 would be charged at the after-noon price. I honestly did not understand it. I have been to many screen golf places, but this was the first time I had seen pricing calculated this way. The first line of the usage notice posted in each room said the fee is based on the game start time. Since I had rushed over for that reason, paying the later price even though I would start before noon felt hard to accept.

The basic complimentary items were water and Ace crackers. Because we had not eaten breakfast, we ordered food there.

The mat condition was fine. However, compared with other places, the screen felt a bit shorter vertically, and the distance between the hitting area and the screen was close. It did not cause a problem while playing, but I remember the screen view from the hitting area feeling low.

We ordered two corn dogs, tteokbokki, and ramyeon. If I was going to pay the post-noon price anyway, I would have eaten first and come more slowly, so that part was disappointing.

Parking was convenient and the food was not bad, but the operating and pricing method did not suit me. I wonder what other golfers would think. Maybe there are places that normally calculate by 30-minute blocks and I just did not know? As for a revisit... nope.
