Urban Trend Sanbon Review: Layered Cut, C-Curl & Root Perm
A personal review of Urban Trend Sanbon near Sanbon Rodeo, covering a layered cut, C-curl perm, iron root volume perm, clinic care, parking, and opening hours.

Hi! Today I visited Urban Trend in Sanbon for a layered cut. Lately I had been growing my hair without really taking care of it, and it felt flat and heavy. I booked ahead and went in to shorten the length a bit and get a perm that would add volume at the roots.

The location is at the end of Sanbon Rodeo, in the building right next to Today Mall. Once I went up to the 4th floor, the salon was right in front of me, so it was easy to find. 📍 Hours 10:30–20:30 Saturday: 10:00–20:00 Sunday: 10:00–19:00 Closed every Monday 📍 Parking Parking is available in the building’s underground parking lot. It uses mechanical parking, and if it is full, use a nearby public parking lot.

After going in and confirming my reservation, I stored my belongings first. Since I was getting a perm, I put on a gown. Once I finished putting my things away as guided, they showed me to my seat.

I booked with Director Junho, and we started with a consultation. 📍 My concerns and requests: My long hair was falling too flat. I wanted a layered cut. I wanted a root volume perm. I preferred a light, silky look rather than something overly full or heavy.
Director Junho suggested a plan during the consultation. 📍 Cut off the damaged ends at the bottom while adding a layered cut. Add root volume with an iron perm. Also do a C-curl perm so the layered cut would stand out more and be easier to style.

It looked like quite a lot would be cut, so I took one last photo because I felt a little sad about it. Goodbye, my hair...

My hair was cut off nice and refreshingly, and then they immediately started applying the perm solution.

While I was waiting, they also brought me a drink. There were many drink options, and Urban Trend Sanbon had kombucha, which was unusual. I was curious, so I asked for it—and honestly, this place is a total kombucha spot...!! It suited my taste so much that I wanted to ask what product they use. Since a cut and perm take quite a bit of time together, you can get hungry, but the snacks and drinks helped me get through it comfortably.

After rinsing my hair, we also did clinic care. First of all, receiving care in a massage chair was absolute bliss... The waiting time for the clinic care was a bit long, but because it was a massage chair, I loved it. For reference, the C-curl perm was recommended by the director. I originally planned to perm only the roots and leave the lower part alone to avoid damage. When I hesitated, the director explained that he would do the perm together with clinic care to minimize damage, and that combining the layered cut with a C-curl perm would make it easier to style and look pretty. I went with it, and in the end I was satisfied—very, very satisfied. There was hardly any damage, so my hair still feels silky-smooth.

There seemed to be various benefits if you sign up for a prepaid voucher. I’m thinking of coming back when my perm loosens, so I may consider the prepaid option next time. They also have a practical package that seems good for men getting a cut plus down perm, so keep that in mind.

They rolled the C-curls nicely, and then I waited again. At this point, the vice director helped for a short time, and they carefully checked whether anything was pulling and tried to make it as comfortable as possible. I was honestly a little touched...
Right after the C-curl perm was done, we moved on to the root perm. The director did the root perm as an iron perm. If you watch the video, you’ll know what I mean—he had a real expert vibe. He rolled everything quickly and precisely, and since it was my first time getting an iron perm, it was fascinating even while I was getting it.
After the iron perm, it was time for the finishing stage. When drying, twist the hair as you dry it. I told them I had plans afterward, and both the director and vice director dried my hair so enthusiastically. They also explained well how to style it at the end.

The finished look was amazing. Right after the cut, I thought the length had been reduced a lot, but once it was dried, it was exactly the pretty length I wanted. The roots were lifted in a rounded shape, and I was so satisfied.
This is something you really need to see in a video. They made exactly the hair I wanted, without noticeable damage.

If you’re considering a layered cut, C-curl perm, iron perm, or root perm, I highly recommend Urban Trend Sanbon. The director’s technique was no joke, so I really recommend trying it. . . . #SanbonHairSalonRecommendation #SanbonIronPerm #SanbonStationHairSalon #SanbonMensHairSalon #SanbonLayeredCut #SanbonCCurlPerm #SanbonCCurlSpecialist #SanbonLayeredCutPerm #SanbonRootPerm #SanbonRootVolumePerm #LayeredCut #RootVolumePerm #GoddessHair #CCurlRecommendation #SanbonHippiePerm
