A personal stay review of Mediterranean Morning Pension on Anmyeondo, Taean, covering the Greece Room, pink muhly field, greenhouse pool, private barbecue, grilled shrimp, wine party, and simple breakfast.

Hello! Today I want to share a place to stay in Taean that I really enjoyed during my trip. I stayed in the Greece Room at Mediterranean Morning Pension, and I visited on a day when the pink muhly was in full bloom, so it was a serious treat for the eyes.

The pension is located on Anmyeondo in Taean. The drive in follows a winding road, but once you arrive, it is such a pretty place. Parking is at the entrance of the pension, and there was even an electric vehicle charging area. Here are the things I enjoyed through the pension: pink muhly, the greenhouse swimming pool, spa, private barbecue, grilled shrimp, unlimited wine party, and breakfast. Amazing, right? During my visit, if you wrote a Naver review, you could receive either free barbecue or free grilled shrimp. We paid for the barbecue and received the grilled shrimp. The quality was so good that if you visit in winter, I really recommend trying the grilled shrimp.

After a quick check-in, we headed straight to the pink muhly before the sun went down. The timing was actually perfect because it was close to sunset. The owner told us the land belongs to the pension. When we arrived, there was not a single person there. If you visit without overlapping with other guests, it is absolutely possible to get those “best photo of the trip” shots. I got mine too.

The pink muhly area was bigger than I expected, and because it was in full bloom, it looked beautiful. It really felt like stepping into a fairy tale.

At the very top, there are dense trees and a wide pink muhly field, and the scenery is so pretty. While walking around, I also found a pumpkin house. The inside was cute too. It did not feel like a place to sit and rest, but more like a photo spot.

Soft pink covered the hill, and because this is not a public tourist attraction but land belonging to the pension, it was a great place for a quiet walk without crowds.

If you walk just a little from the pink muhly field toward the sea, about three minutes or so, you can also see a wide-open ocean view like this. Looking down at the waves made my mind feel completely refreshed. I really felt glad that I had come on this trip.

After the walk, we headed back to the room. Maybe because it was Halloween season, the entrance was decorated like this. At night, the lights were turned on and it looked sparkly and pretty. I thought it would be a really nice place to visit with children.

This was the Greece 1 room where we stayed. Near the entrance, there was a simple hanger for large coats and a mirror. I was surprised by how clean the entrance looked. The room did have a slightly older feel, but I liked that I could tell the owner had tried to keep everything as neat and clean as possible.

The bed was interesting because it felt like it was half a level up. At first I wondered why it had been designed that way, but once I got on the bed, I understood. It is not directly in front of the sea, but from the bed you can see the ocean. The view combines mountains and sea, and it is lovely.

I fell asleep imagining how pretty it would look when I opened my eyes in the morning, and that made me sleep even better.

The bathroom had a tub for a private spa. I filled it with water and turned on the spa function, and it felt like a bubbling massage bath. For reference, if you open the blind, you can see outside, which gave it a bit of an outdoor bath feeling. After swimming, warming up in the tub was perfect, and I did not end up catching a cold.

All the tableware we needed was provided. Since it was a room for two people, everything was set up for two: cups, soju glasses, wine glasses, various plates and bowls, spoons and chopsticks, tongs, scissors, a ladle, and a rice paddle. There was also a one-burner induction cooktop, a sink, and a microwave. The refrigerator and freezer both worked very well.

After swimming, we planned to have barbecue on this terrace. You can use the barbecue facility on the first floor, or you can do it privately at your room. If you come with several friends, the first-floor area would be good for gathering together. If you come as a pair, it may be easier to stay at the room so you do not have to carry all your groceries downstairs. One thoughtful thing I noticed was that each room had a drying rack so guests could dry their swimsuits after swimming. We hung ours inside the room, and because of that, the room did not feel too dry.

After organizing our luggage, we grabbed our swim things and headed to the greenhouse. The whole pension felt like a large garden. There were so many pretty corners everywhere that it was a real visual treat.

This is what the greenhouse entrance looked like. There was also a screen door to help keep bugs out. Inside, it was decorated in a way that really matched the Mediterranean theme. Outside it was autumn, but inside the greenhouse it felt like summer.

There were lots of chairs and tables, so children could play in the pool while parents rested comfortably. It seemed like a place many families would enjoy. Guests could use the space comfortably, leave their belongings wherever convenient, and swim. The owner was also very kind. When she asked whether we would use the pool, she gave us a large blanket to wrap around ourselves on the way back to the room because it could be cold after swimming. She said it was fine to get it wet and to just leave it in the room afterward. It felt so sweet, like a motherly concern that guests should not catch a cold.

The highlight of the day was this large pool. I had it all to myself for an hour. The pool closing time was 6:30 p.m. When I checked in around 4 p.m., there were about three family groups, so it felt quite busy. I thought I would just dip into the water briefly, and went over around 5 p.m. But somehow everyone had left. Maybe it was because it was one hour before closing, or maybe the kids got hungry after swimming, but there was nobody there.

I floated around on the tubes that were provided, then put on the swim goggles I had brought just in case and had a great time swimming. Because it was inside a greenhouse, the air was warm. The water temperature felt somewhere between lukewarm and warm, so it seemed like a temperature children could enter without much hesitation.

I really liked the pool. It was cleaner than I expected, there was no unpleasant smell, and maybe because I had the wide pool to myself, I used up all my energy there.

After swimming, we started preparing for the barbecue. As the lights around the pension turned on, the night view became really pretty.

This was the grilled shrimp we received for the review. The owner grilled it herself and brought it out, so all we had to do was take it with us and peel it. With the meat we had brought and the shrimp from the owner, we ate until we were completely full.

Even grilling the barbecue felt atmospheric. I could see some stars, and it was not as cold as I expected, so we successfully finished our outdoor barbecue.

At 8 p.m., the wine party begins. From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., guests can choose a seat and take wine and wine glasses to drink. The snacks and wine were unlimited, but guests should only take as much as they will actually have. I was told that you can drink only inside the greenhouse cafe and cannot take it outside. I visited around 9 p.m., and everyone had found their own seats and was enjoying a glass of wine.

We considered opening a new bottle, but there was a bottle another couple had left behind with about half remaining, so we just had that. I did not think we could finish a whole bottle anyway, and it felt like a waste to leave wine behind. We sat at the bar seats, and then the music boxes in front of us all turned on. We enjoyed a very Christmas-like mood before going back up to our room.

Simple 500 KRW per person breakfast sandwich at the Taean pension

In the morning, we had the breakfast that cost 500 KRW per person. It was nice to eat a filling sandwich before leaving. They asked at check-in whether we wanted breakfast. Since it was 500 KRW, it did not feel burdensome, and it was just right for a simple morning meal. If you are planning a trip to Taean or Anmyeondo, I highly recommend Mediterranean Morning Pension. The owner was kind, helped with anything we needed, and the accommodation was clean. I was only satisfied with this stay, and it is a place I would definitely want to visit again.
