Sunhui Naengsam near Pyeongchon Station: Frozen Pork Belly
A visit to Sunhui Naengsam, a recently opened naengsam spot near Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, for quick-frozen minari pork belly, banchan, included doenjang jjigae, soju, and fried rice.
Hello! Today I tried tasty naengsam, or quick-frozen pork belly, near Pyeongchon Station, and it had none of that unwanted porky smell. The place is Sunhui Naengsam, a fairly new restaurant. I had noticed it often whenever I passed nearby, so I had been curious since it opened. I finally got to visit.

The location is a 2-minute walk from Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, so it is very convenient to visit by subway. 📍Hours Weekdays: 16:00-22:00 Weekends and public holidays: 11:30-22:00 Last order: 21:30 There is no break time, so visiting is easy. 📍Parking Parking support is available in the building on the 7th floor. It is hard to find restaurants around Pyeongchon Station that support parking, so this was a big plus.

Quick-frozen minari samgyeopsal for two Fried rice Soju
I heard Sunhui Naengsam is known for its minari pork belly, so that is what we ordered. At first, we also ordered doenjang jjigae, but the staff said one comes included by default. I was glad they told us in advance.

The restaurant felt comfortable overall. Naengsam can splatter a lot of oil, but they had hygiene paper on the walls, and the tables were wide enough to eat comfortably. There was also storage space under the chairs to help keep outerwear from absorbing food smells. It was nice to put my coat inside before eating.

I really liked the banchan at Sunhui Naengsam. The side dishes came neatly arranged with a good variety. There was mu saengchae, baby napa cabbage, and ssam-mu pickled radish wraps, which suited my taste perfectly. Since we ordered the minari pork belly, we could add minari into our wraps too, and I felt like we made the right choice.

This was the two-person serving of naengsam. Compared with other places, the meat felt a little thicker. We lined it up on the hot grill and sprinkled pepper over it. I can still remember that sizzling sound.

The highlight, minari, came piled generously in a basket. Since minari wilts once it goes on the grill, I think they give plenty of it. Absolutely great.

This was the doenjang jjigae that came included by default. It tasted clean and good, with plenty of tofu, vegetables, and other ingredients. Doenjang jjigae feels essential when eating grilled meat, so it was really nice that they included it as part of the basic table setting.

As the meat slowly finished cooking, we also grilled the gosari and kimchi that came as side dishes, and that made everything even better. The aroma of the minari matched the pork so well that I kept eating them together, both on their own and wrapped as ssam.

I wanted the minari aroma to soak in, so once the meat was cooked, I placed it on top of the minari. Maybe because the meat quality was good, it stayed crisp without getting hard, and it was delicious until the end.

Any side dishes that ran out could be refilled at the self-service bar. The seasoned perilla leaves were especially memorable. They went really well with the meat and tasted savory, so I think I went back for them twice.

Soju with baby napa cabbage wraps is hard to resist. There was a reason they served baby napa cabbage and mu saengchae together. Add minari and samgyeopsal, and the combination is seriously satisfying. Soju plus minari pork belly is the best.

For the finish, fried rice is absolutely essential. At Sunhui Naengsam, they do not stir-fry it directly from scratch on the grill. Instead, they bring seasoned rice and press it onto the grill. They even top it with egg. The crispy bottom was really delicious. With two portions of meat plus fried rice, two people can get extremely full. With parking support and quick-frozen pork belly that had no off smell, I recommend Sunhui Naengsam as a Pyeongchon naengsam spot. #PyeongchonStationNaengsam #GwanyangDongMeatRestaurant #PyeongchonStationMeal #AnyangNaengsam #AnyangNaengsamRestaurant #AnyangSamgyeopsal #PyeongchonSamgyeopsal #PyeongchonGroupDinner #PyeongchonNaengsam
