Sibarama 2nd Branch in Anyang: Oden Bar Review
A long-time visitor review of Sibarama 2nd Branch in Anyang Ilbeonga, an oden bar and izakaya-style drinking spot with welcome drinks, mentaiko, skewers, and late hours.
Hi, this is Izzingne. Today I want to introduce an alley spot in Anyang Ilbeonga, an oden bar I have visited often since I was 20. It is Sibarama 2nd Branch in Anyang Ilbeonga. The 1st branch is toward Anyang Station, and the 2nd branch is deeper inside Anyang Ilbeonga. I have been to both, but I like the oden bar mood more, so I keep going back to the 2nd branch.

Business hours are 18:00 to 04:00, with last order at 03:00. It is closed every Monday. Around Anyang Ilbeonga, there is a cluster of bars near the Halmaek and Sujak intersection, and it is around there. The sign is small but bright yellow, so it is easy to find.

The place centers on an oden bar, but izakaya-style menu items are also available.
Grilled mentaiko with fried egg, and several kinds of oden.
We visited for the first round, but because we planned to keep going for a second round, we had a drink with simple grilled mentaiko and oden. If you plan to visit on Friday or Saturday, pay attention. I arrived right at opening time, 6 p.m., and by 6:15 it was full. Come right at opening. It is a real favorite spot.

While we were choosing from the menu, the owner made a welcome drink. Honestly, this is why I go to Sibarama. It seemed to have a little alcohol, but it was sweet, and they even did a mini fire show. Watch it until the flame goes out, drink it, then bite into the lemon. It is refreshing and sweet.

The interior made with posters and packaged sake was very cute. Even the small plates and soy sauce dishes were pretty. Eating from pretty dishes puts me in a good mood, and izakayas have that charm.

Instead of oden soaking the whole time until it gets swollen, you choose the pieces hanging above and dip them into the broth for about five minutes before eating. I really liked that.

Grilled mentaiko is something I always order at izakayas, and this was delicious too. They gave plenty of cucumber, plus two sauces, mayonnaise and garlic sauce. That was a great touch.

Cucumber with mentaiko, mayo, and wasabi is the best combination. With the fried egg too, it was perfect as a simple drinking snack.

If you are looking for an Anyang oden bar with a strong mood, this is the place. The owner was so sweet and asked whether the food suited our taste and whether the snacks were okay, which I appreciated.

My favorite oden is the cheese oden. I think it is mozzarella cheese. There is a whole piece of cheese inside, and it is very nutty and slightly sweet, so I kept reaching for it.

This was the tendon skewer that customers beside us and in front of us were all ordering. It was very chewy and bouncy. With that texture and all the collagen, it is the kind of snack many women would like.

Sibarama is an Anyang spot with a great mood and a very kind owner. The oden selection is varied and delicious. Next time, I want to try sukiyaki or nabe. For reference, there is no required number of oden pieces per person. You just need to order one food item.
