Sajo Tuna Sanbon Review: Private Rooms Near the Station
A Sanbon Station review of Sajo Tuna, a private-room tuna restaurant with parking help, warm room seating, special tuna cuts, refills, clam soup, maki, and albap.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I visited Sajo Tuna, known as a popular restaurant near Gunpo Sanbon Station. It was very comfortable because the seating was in rooms.

The location is right in front of Sanbon Station Exit 3. You can think of it as being right next to Dunkin Donuts. Hours: 13:00-23:00. For parking, use the building parking lot, and if you call, the owner comes out personally to guide you. If you parked at the Sanbon Central Commercial Area public parking lot, the restaurant can register 2 hours of parking, so it is convenient even if you bring a car.
When you go in, there are many rooms inside. They even prepared slippers so you can go to the restroom comfortably. Since we were two people, we were guided to a cozy room, but there were larger rooms too. It looked spacious enough for family gatherings, company dinners, birthday parties, and other group meals near Gunpo Sanbon Station. It felt private, so I think I will come often.

Sajo tuna sashimi special for two. Cheongha.
We ordered the special set for two, and for drinks we kept it simple with Cheongha. There were also a few kinds of sake, so it looked good for people who like sake too.

Because we had reserved through Naver, the table was already set. It was very cold due to a cold wave advisory, and the warm tea they served melted me right away. The seating was floor seating, and the floor was heated. Those little considerations were touching.
The first thing to come out was a fried egg. They brought a hot iron plate and cracked the egg right there. The sizzling sound was great, and the pinch of salt was a nice touch.

This was the porridge and jang soup served with the fried egg. The porridge was nutty and good, and the soup went well with the tuna. I liked that the porridge portion was generous. I finished a bowl before eating tuna so my stomach would feel comfortable.

Radish sprouts and aged kimchi came out to eat with the tuna. They also served fried shiitake in sauce and braised tuna. I like wrapping tuna with radish sprouts and aged kimchi in seaweed, so I refilled the kimchi and sprouts once. The fried shiitake had a crisp coating and plenty of sauce, so it was really tasty. In other places, braised tuna can be dry, so I often avoid it, but at Sajo Tuna near Gunpo Sanbon Station it was braised without that dry texture and was good as a side dish.

Right after those dishes, today's tuna came sliced and served. The presentation was impressive. They explained each cut in detail and also told us how to eat them for the best flavor, so we could enjoy them properly.

With the special order, seven kinds were served: rib meat, otoro, chutoro, bluefin belly button meat, eye meat, cheek meat, and kama-toro. The tuna was sprinkled with gold flakes. It was very fresh, and hearing the explanation for each cut helped me decide whether to eat it with sesame oil sauce or soy sauce.

We opened the Cheongha right away and got started. I was in such a good mood eating tuna that day that I ended up drinking three bottles. Maybe because I had such good food with it, thankfully I had no hangover the next day.

The tuna still looks beautiful even looking back at it.

My favorite combination is seaweed, tuna, aged kimchi, radish sprouts, and wasabi, with just a little sesame oil sauce. Please try it this way. It melts in your mouth, and the aged kimchi and radish sprouts add texture so it does not feel greasy.

After serving the tuna, they also brought corn cheese and grilled mackerel. Sashimi without corn cheese feels incomplete. It was sweet, so I kept reaching for it. The mackerel was grilled nicely and nutty. The flesh separated easily and it was not too salty, so it was easy to eat. By this point I was getting full, but the meal was not over yet.

They even refilled the tuna. I was full, but I could still eat more. They selected tasty cuts for us, and I was happy because I got to eat my favorite belly button meat twice.

The clam soup served before the meal finish was very spicy and refreshing. Just when the richness was starting to build up, it cut through it nicely. It came out boiling in a ttukbaegi and was really delicious.

For the meal, you can choose between maki and albap. Since each person could choose what they wanted, we ordered both.
Please imagine the sizzling sound from the albap. It was a video that made my appetite jump.

The maki was full of flying fish roe. It had pickled radish inside too, so it was crunchy and tasty.

I mixed the albap thoroughly and ate it. I mixed it too quickly, so no crispy rice formed at the bottom, but if you wait a little longer before mixing, I think a nutty crust would form. The seasoning was just right, and the amount was suitable for a finishing meal.

If you are looking for a sashimi restaurant, tuna restaurant, or private-room sashimi place near Gunpo Sanbon Station, I strongly recommend Sajo Tuna. The owner and staff were all kind, so I had a pleasant meal. I would revisit. Disclosure from the source: this post was written after receiving a meal voucher from the business.
