Hi, this is Izzingne. Today was one of those days when I really wanted chicken and beer, so after work I looked for a barbecue chicken place in Sanbon. Instead of fried chicken, I was craving seasoned barbecue chicken.

It was Hwarak Barbecue Chicken. From the middle of Sanbon Rodeo Square, go straight toward Olive Young, turn at the GS convenience store corner, and it is on the left. The hours are 15:00 to 02:30. For parking, use a public parking lot.

They had the terrace side opened wide. We wanted a bit of an outdoor-stall feeling, so we sat at the end. Thanks to that, we could eat very comfortably and coolly. The inside also had wide, clean tables. I was moved that every seat had a chair with a backrest. It was soft and comfortable, so it was nice even for sitting a long time.

I also noticed a sports broadcast playing on the TV near the counter. I thought that when there is an important soccer match later, this would be a good place for chicken and beer.


Since there were two of us, we decided to order a small size.

I suddenly wanted something spicy, so among the ttangcho barbecue options, we chose the spicy flavor. Since it seemed like it might be spicy, we also ordered the sweet corn pop as a side.

The draft beer, which cannot be left out, came first. The owner had such good sense and served the beer in frosted glasses. It felt cold all the way to my brain. In summer, icy draft beer really is the answer. The basic side setup was cabbage with ketchup-mayo, pickled radish, and puffed rice. I really like that cabbage salad, so I liked the basic snacks too.

At last, the ttangcho barbecue chicken came out. The seasoning and ttangcho peppers were spread well without empty spots. I love Cheongyang peppers, so I got extra Cheongyang peppers and ate them with it.

When I put about two ttangcho pieces on one piece of barbecue and ate them together, the spicy flavor spread through my mouth and it was so good. The barbecue itself was not very spicy. The spiciness comes up more when you eat it with the ttangcho. The corn pop was sweet and salty, so the combination was really good. Eating one piece of chicken with one spoonful of corn pop made the spicy, sweet, and salty balance excellent.

The interior and lighting around the sofa where I sat were so pretty that I took a photo. There was a pickup counter by the door so delivery drivers could pick up orders comfortably, and cute blankets underneath it too. When paying at the end, I even saw dental floss prepared, and I left impressed by the owner's sense.
The food was very good, but I also remember how kind they were while serving us. It made me think this is a place I would want to visit again. It was great.
