Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I visited Cheongdo Minari Restaurant in Sanbon Rodeo. I am the kind of person who thinks shabu-shabu is the best winter lunch menu, and eating it with plenty of minari made it hearty and even tastier. This is a good Sanbon Station shabu-shabu spot.

The location is in the CGV building right in front of Sanbon Rodeo, close to Exit 3. Hours: 10:00-22:00. I visited at lunch, and lunch seemed to be a little cheaper.

They say they use only minari sourced directly from Cheongdo. The portions are generous, and it felt good to be able to trust what I was eating.

Minari spicy shabu-shabu. Minari jeon.

I was craving something spicy rather than a clear broth, so I ordered the spicy version and added the crisp minari jeon. There was also a Naver receipt review event where you could choose one of dumplings, a drink, or soju.

After ordering, they brought side dishes. The guide for enjoying shabu-shabu said a sauce mixed 1:1 with chojang and perilla powder tastes especially good, so I made it. The white kimchi and onion pickle here were also tasty.

The shabu-shabu set came out all at once: vegetables and mushrooms, meat, kalguksu, and either porridge or rice. There were already mushrooms and vegetables in the broth, and more came separately too.

It was truly generous. I can see why people go here for Sanbon Station shabu-shabu.

When the broth boils, the seasoning paste inside is clumped together, so you need to loosen it well. As it boils, it turns into a red, spicy shabu-shabu.

Since there were already vegetables inside, I added the meat first. The meat pieces were large, and there was enough of it.

We were impatient and ended up adding everything. We cooked the meat well first, then added the extra vegetables and enjoyed it as shabu-shabu.

When we were almost done with the meat and vegetables, they added more broth. That was kalguksu time. I added the noodles once the broth was boiling hard and cooked them for about 4 to 5 minutes.

While I was enjoying the kalguksu, the minari jeon appeared. I had expected a common pancake with lots of batter, but it was different. The outside was fried very thin, and the minari aroma was so good.

The shabu-shabu was tasty, of course, but the minari jeon was the real standout. I highly recommend ordering it. The crisp texture and minari fragrance were excellent. I usually do not talk much to owners, but I told them it was delicious, and they said this dish is very popular.

After eating some of the kalguksu, I started wanting rice to finish. This restaurant was perfect for someone like me who wants to try everything. We took out the solids and left the broth. The source says to leave 10 ladles for porridge or 2 ladles for fried rice. We chose soft porridge.

Even the porridge came out looking pretty. As the saying goes, food that looks good tastes good, and the porridge was really delicious.

I was not sure whether we were supposed to mix it ourselves or if they do it for you, but the owner mixed and pressed it nicely for us.

I was so full that I left a little kalguksu, but as a Korean I could not leave the rice. We scraped the pot clean. I recommend Cheongdo Minari Restaurant as a tasty Sanbon Station shabu-shabu place. The minari jeon is strongly recommended.
