Cafe Kevin in Sanbon: Yellow Cheese Gateau and Sable Cookies

A Sanbon dessert cafe review of Cafe Kevin near the Sanbon intersection, with a spacious forest-cabin mood, parking nearby, yellow cheese gateau, sable cookies, coffee, and pet-friendly details.

Hi, this is Ijjingne. I had work piling up and wanted to do it after work, so I looked for a nearby cafe and found Cafe Kevin, a dessert spot in Sanbon.

Cafe Kevin is located at the Sanbon intersection, on the 13-danji side, on the second floor of the Baskin Robbins building. There is also a public parking lot right in front, so parking was easy for us. Business hours are 10:30-21:30, with Mondays closed. Local currency is accepted, kids are welcome, pets are allowed, and they also take orders for cookie gifts and whole cakes.

Spacious Cafe Kevin seating with wide table spacing

I expected a small, cute cafe, but it was bigger than I thought. The tables were spaced widely and the whole place felt roomy, so it seemed good for chatting, using a laptop, or studying at a cafe.

The atmosphere was nice. There were green plants in the middle, and I really liked the fresh, woody feeling. They said the interior was designed with a forest cabin concept.

Kevin is known as a dessert cafe in Sanbon, and there were so many dessert types, including meringue cookies, smore cookies, gateau, and sable cookies. Personally, I do not like marshmallows, so I chose a gateau and three kinds of easy-to-eat sable cookies.

These were all cookies. There were so many kinds.

People who like smore cookies would feel like this is heaven. There were also many cookies without marshmallows, so it seemed good for people like me too.

That is what we ordered. Even though it is an independent cafe, the coffee prices felt kind. One thing I really liked was that the desserts were displayed clearly, but all of them were sealed, which I appreciated a lot.

The menu we ordered came out. Their concept was clear, with leaf-shaped coasters and stone plates. The sable cookies had a crisp, crumbly texture and strong flavors. They were individually wrapped, so I took the one we left and ate it on the way home after my next errand.

The latte was rich, nutty, and tasty. I like cafe lattes without syrup, and this one was not watery; it was nutty and just right for my taste. And then, the main yellow cheese gateau. As someone who loves yellow cheese, it was extremely good. When I go for dessert and there is yellow cheese, I only choose yellow cheese, and Cafe Kevin's yellow cheese gateau was amazing. Yellow cheese gateau, yellow cheese ganache, yellow cheese cream, and yellow cheese cookie crumbs: that is a combination for people obsessed with yellow cheese. The reason there is no solo shot of the gateau is that after one bite, I could not put down my fork until it was gone.

It was a cafe where I could feel that the owner is serious about dessert. They also said that people who visit in the morning, from 10:30 to 12:30, receive salt bread as a service item. Since they take whole cake orders, I also saw cute candles, and the prices felt very kind. I often go to cafes after work, and Cafe Kevin is definitely a revisit for me because of the yellow cheese gateau. #SanbonCafe #SanbonDessertSpot #SanbonDessert #SanbonAtmosphereCafe #GunpoCafeRecommendation #SanbonMarketCafe #SanbonCake #SanbonWholeCakeOrder #SanbonGiftCookies #SanbonReturnGiftCookies
