Helmut Coffee Roasters Sadang Cafe Review

Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I met a friend in Sadang for the first time in a while. When someone from Gyeonggi-do and someone from Seoul meet, Sadang really is the best. My friend is from Anyang and I am from Yongsan, and both of us can reach Sadang in under 30 minutes, which is great.

Helmut Coffee is about 5 minutes from Sadang Station Exit 11. Hours: 11:00-22:00. Last order: 21:30. It is a two-floor cafe in a standalone building, and the entrance is very wide, so it is easy to find.

Since we came to a cafe, of course we had to try a signature menu. Whenever I come to a cafe with this friend, we always end up ordering at least one signature menu. Maybe it is our own rule.

I visited on a Saturday weekend. There were two or three kinds of cake, plus a few madeleines and cookies. We kept it simple and chose one slice of cake.

The first floor felt gently lively, good for chatting. I could not take photos on the second floor because there were too many people, but many were reading or working on laptops. It seemed a little quieter than the first floor.

This was our seat. It was right next to the speaker, but it was not a big inconvenience. I visited around 3 PM on Saturday, and the place was full all the way to the second floor. Just when I wondered what to do, the people sitting here got up, so we could sit right away. Behind us, some people waited standing, and some people left.

There is waiting during weekend peak times. These wall seats looked cozy too, but not very comfortable. Since it was winter and we had coats and bags, seats like this felt a bit inconvenient.

The menu we ordered came out quickly and looked very good.

The maple syrup seemed to be set up so you could add it to taste. I squeezed it out and it ran off to the side, but when I ate the cheesecake with syrup, it became sweeter and tastier. The macadamia on top was nutty and delicious.

The Mafia is Helmut Coffee's signature. I ordered it with a milk base, so it was even nuttier. The cream is 100% dairy cream. No wonder it was chewy, thick, rich, and nutty in a way different from other Einspanners. The coffee was strong too, so it matched well.

After chatting a lot with my friend, I took a photo in front of the tree on the way out. I had not noticed it during the day because the lights were off, but at night it was sparkling and pretty.
