A Sanbon review of Park Eun-ja Mat Sarang near Sanbon Station, featuring oven-grilled mackerel, many homestyle side dishes, seaweed soup, group seating, and codfish menu notes.

I went to Sanbon for grilled fish, one of my mom favorite foods. Park Eun-ja Mat Sarang is a Sanbon codfish restaurant we often order from at home. I had only eaten at the Gunpo main branch before, so this was my first visit to the Sanbon branch. It is about two minutes on foot from Sanbon Station, so access is excellent.

As soon as I entered, I saw a huge oven. Sanbon did not have a grilled fish place like this, so it felt like the real thing. We came for codfish but switched to grilled fish after seeing the oven.

The menu was very broad. Codfish is the main item, but there were oven-grilled fish, braised dishes, soups, baeksuk, cockles, and more. The source says the codfish is shipped directly from a drying field and is presented as a much higher-quality product than regular supermarket codfish.

The interior was fairly wide and clean. There were many group seats, so it felt popular with group diners. During the visit, there were two tables that looked like company gatherings. The owner and staff were also very kind.

Order list: oven-grilled mackerel.

We chose grilled mackerel and ordered one bottle of beer. The mackerel was aged with garlic and radish, which sounded exciting even while ordering.

The side dishes were excellent. They had a homestyle feel, like food made by mom at home, and the seasoning was just right. My favorite was the celery pickle, which had an addictive taste.

Just as I was admiring the side dishes, the grilled fish arrived. The color looked beautiful, the skin was golden, and the inside was so moist that it was one of the softest mackerel dishes I have tried.

The source says the video showed how moist the fish was.

The full table looked generous. The side dishes and grilled fish went well together and made the meal look even better.

I could not resist ordering a bottle of beer. A beer after work tasted especially good, and the bottle disappeared quickly.

It tasted even better with warm, rich seaweed soup. There was no fishy smell, and the fish was so soft that it went down easily. I finished a bowl of rice. For anyone looking near Sanbon Station or for a Sanbon codfish restaurant, the source strongly recommends Park Eun-ja Mat Sarang Sanbon.
