A first-person review of Outdak (아웃닭) Sanbon Station Branch on Sanbon Station Rodeo Street, covering its 16:00–01:00 hours, phone-tag ordering, Original Princeton fried bone-in chicken, onion rings, and 660cc draft beer served in an icy glass.

Hello! Today I visited Outdak (아웃닭) Sanbon Station Branch. It is a chicken place I really like, and I finally went back after a while. This was my first time ordering bone-in chicken at Outdak instead of boneless, and it was even better than I expected. Now I understand the appeal of Outdak’s bone-in chicken.

The branch is on Sanbon Station Rodeo Street. It was easy to find because it is in the Shinhan Bank building. Hours are 16:00–01:00, with last order at 00:00. Since it starts in the afternoon and stays open until late at night, it is an easy stop whenever a chicken craving hits. I visited on a weekend afternoon, and by the time I left it was almost full. It really seems to have stayed popular for years.

These were the menu board and event notices. There were even highballs and cinnamon beer, along with a variety of alcoholic drinks and promotions, so they are worth checking before ordering.

Ordered: Original Princeton Fried Bone-In Chicken, onion rings, and 660cc draft beer.

At Outdak, the draft beer is 660cc, larger than the usual 500cc. For me, 500cc can feel slightly short, but two beers can be too much, so this size is just right. I ordered one bone-in chicken and added onion rings on the side, because the onion rings here are soft and tasty.

The interior feels similar no matter which Outdak branch you visit. I liked the Hollywood-like mood, wooden tables, and chairs. It has a slightly dark pub atmosphere, which felt hip and comfortable.

There were several events at the Sanbon branch, so keep an eye out. These days many places use QR codes or phone tags for ordering, and Outdak Sanbon Station Branch also allowed ordering by phone tag. If that method is difficult, you can still press the bell, so order whichever way is easier.

Outdak’s signature sauces, salad, and chicken radish came out first. I especially like the salad. The sauce tastes good, and I love that it has corn in it.

Then the huge 660cc draft beer arrived. The glass even seemed to have been chilled or frozen; tiny ice crystals formed inside and floated up. I visited when it was very hot, so it was extra refreshing.

The chicken looked seriously impressive. A signature point at Outdak is that the chicken comes together with fries and fried rice cakes. The portion is generous, and there is seasoning sprinkled on top, so it tastes good even without sauce.

The bone-in chicken was crispy and delicious. The batter had just the right thickness and crunch, and eating chicken off the bone was really satisfying. The fried rice cakes were crisp outside and soft inside. I like the chicken too, but those fried rice cakes were especially tasty.

There were also thin fries and thicker wedge fries. They are both potatoes, but the textures are different, so each has its own charm. This place brings together exactly the fried snacks I like.

And then there were the onion rings, one of my favorite side dishes. Even though it is a side, the portion was huge. It did not feel like whole onion slices; it was more like softly ground onion fried into rings, which I liked even more. For two people, the chicken alone may be enough. If three people visit and want to add one side, I recommend the onion rings.

I already liked Outdak chicken a lot, and I was very satisfied with the Sanbon Station Branch. The staff were kind, the portions were generous, and I would like to visit again. The original review also mentioned an Instagram link for reference, so it may be worth checking before you go.
