Nocheon Minmul Jangeo Gunpo Sanbon Branch unlimited freshwater eel review

Hello! Today I went to Sanbon for a nourishing eel meal. This is a good Sanbon eel place to consider around Chobok or Jungbok, the summer Boknal days in Korea. The restaurant is Nocheon Minmul Jangeo Gunpo Sanbon Branch, where beef and eel are available as unlimited refills.

The location is very convenient: about a 1-minute walk from Sanbon Station Exit 3. It is in the building with Samtong Chicken on the first floor. Opening hours: 11:00 ~ 22:30 Beef unlimited refill: 29,900 Beef and eel unlimited refill: 37,000 Since I planned to focus on eel, I chose the option that let me keep refilling eel.

The self bar looked clean. Besides the basic side dishes, there were also simple extra sides, so it seemed easy to pick what you wanted.

The meat and eel are kept fresh inside a showcase. You can take as much as you want.

Side dishes and accompaniments for grilled eel and beef in Sanbon

Inside, there are side dishes and accompaniments ready to go. Mushrooms for grilling, ssam vegetables, kimchi, sauces, and other essentials for eating beef and eel were all there, so you can choose what you like and bring it to the table. Because I only took the side dishes I planned to eat, there was no waste, and I liked being able to take exactly what I wanted.

Hangang-style self-cooked ramen option at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo

The ramen was tempting. They had Hangang-style ramen that you order from your seat and cook yourself. If I had been even a little less full, I definitely would not have been able to pass it up.

Self-bar side dishes and ginger with eel sauce at the Sanbon eel restaurant

After I brought side dishes from the self bar, the owner came by and set up the fire. I loved how they prepared it so we could start eating right away. When I eat eel, my favorite combination is ginger with eel sauce, so I brought plenty of ginger.

Table grilling instructions for freshwater eel at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo

The table also had step-by-step instructions for grilling eel. You can just follow the guide as you cook. It was my first time doing it, but I was still able to grill the eel nicely until golden.

Freshwater eel grilled with coarse salt at the Sanbon restaurant

Place the eel on the grill with the skin side facing down, then sprinkle on an appropriate amount of the coarse salt for eel. When the outer skin starts to curl inward, flip it over. Once it is partly cooked, cut it and grill every side evenly. That is it. It was easier than I expected.

Nicely grilled freshwater eel at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo Sanbon

Doesn’t it look so pretty? The owner saw it while passing by and praised me, saying they had never seen someone grill eel this beautifully. I felt so proud.

Grilled freshwater eel with enoki mushrooms at the Sanbon restaurant

I cut the eel neatly and kept grilling it, then added a lot of enoki mushrooms too. Eating eel together with enoki gave it a nice texture, and it tasted great.

Doenjang jjigae and soju ordered with grilled eel at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo

There was a soup item at the self bar, but we were craving doenjang jjigae, so we ordered one stew and soju. You cannot leave out soju when eating eel. Because it was such a good drinking snack, we ended up opening two bottles.

All-you-can-eat beef and eel option at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo Gunpo Sanbon Branch

Beef was also available as an unlimited refill, but for some reason I only wanted eel that day, so I did not get photos of the beef. When I went to refill the eel, I saw that the beef came in different kinds and looked very fresh. Trying both beef and eel together also seems like a good choice.

Favorite eel combinations with ginger, enoki, perilla leaves, and sauce

These are my two favorite combinations: Eel + enoki + ginger + sauce Eel + ginger + perilla leaf + sauce Both were really the best.

Second refill of thick freshwater eel pieces at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo

The first time, I brought three pieces and ate them. For the second refill, I brought only two pieces. I chose thick middle sections with plenty of meat. I grilled those until golden too and finished every last bite. There was no unpleasant smell, and the eel was well prepared, so it was easy to eat.

Large interior for group meals at Nocheon Minmul Jangeo Gunpo Sanbon Branch

The interior was really, really large, so it looked suitable for group guests, family gatherings, or company dinners. If my company dinner were held here, I think I would be very happy because both tasty beef and eel are unlimited refills. I highly recommend it as an all-you-can-eat eel spot in Sanbon. #SanbonEelRestaurant #SanbonMeatRestaurant #SanbonRestaurant #GunpoRestaurant #SanbonEelSpot #SanbonCompanyDinner #SanbonAllYouCanEatEel #SanbonGroupDining #SanbonAllYouCanEatBeef #SanbonNourishingMeal #SanbonBoknalFood #GunpoBoknalFood
