A Gyeongju Bomun duck restaurant review of Nahyeon Saeng Ori, recommended by a local acquaintance, with parking, hours, Thursday closure, private rooms, baby chair, stone pot rice set, duck bulgogi, side dishes, gondre rice, and nurungji finish.

Hi, this is Ijjingne. During my last trip to Gyeongju, I visited a duck restaurant. It was a duck stone pot rice set restaurant recommended by an acquaintance who lives in Gyeongju, and we went there for a late breakfast and lunch on the second day of the trip.

Nahyeon Saeng Ori restaurant in Gyeongju Bomun

It is located in Gyeongju Bomun, and there is plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant. The listed hours are 9:30 to 21:00, with break time from 15:00 to 16:30. It is regularly closed every Thursday.

The inside is all rooms, which is nice for eating with family or acquaintances. We were guided to the Jajeong room. Baby chairs are also available.

We ordered the stone pot rice set with duck bulgogi for the number of people in our group.

The side dish spread looked good, right? It also came generously with deep doenjang jjigae. It was so rich and tasty that it almost reminded me of cheonggukjang.

Doenjang jjigae with tofu and vegetables

There was plenty of tofu and vegetables inside, enough for the three of us.

Fresh japchae and grilled fish side dishes

Maybe because we visited early in the morning, the japchae tasted freshly seasoned and the grilled fish was nicely browned. I love grilled fish with stone pot rice, and the meal felt so full and generous that I understood why it was a real local favorite.

The table was set so abundantly that I had to take photos. It was perfect for breakfast.

Gondre stone pot rice served with sauce

After the side dishes were set, the well-cooked pot rice finally came out. The fresh gondre aroma was strong. It felt like a healthy, hearty meal. I mixed in the sauce and took a bite, and the fragrance came through clearly.

I wrapped the well-mixed gondre rice and a piece of duck bulgogi in ssam vegetables. The vegetables were really fresh, with a crisp texture.

The gondre rice was my favorite because it tasted good both wrapped in vegetables and on its own. The overall seasoning was not too strong, which I also liked. It fit my taste perfectly.

After scooping out the rice, I added the prepared sungnyung to the stone pot and opened it again later. Steam rose up, and the nurungji had formed properly. I cannot resist nurungji from stone pot rice, so I finished the meal heartily with the side dishes.

When we paid, the owner asked whether the meal was good. During the meal, they also came by once and said to let them know comfortably if we needed anything else. The careful service made the meal very satisfying. This became a restaurant I want to revisit on my next Gyeongju trip.
