Minsok Rice Cake Shop in Bakdal Market
A review of Minsok Rice Cake Shop inside Anyang Bakdal Market, with early-to-late hours, custom rice cakes, Onnuri and local currency notes, yakgwa prices, rice cake packs, and favorite picks.
Hi, this is Izzingne. I stopped by my grandmother's house for the first time in a while and went to the market with my mom. I really love rice cakes. There is a rice cake shop I often visit in Bakdal Market, and this time everything was so good that I wanted to write about it. You know market rice cake shops are the real deal, right?

Hours: 05:00-22:00. They open early in the morning and stay open until 10 at night. Custom rice cakes for dol, 100-day parties, return gifts, and similar occasions are possible, and they accept Onnuri gift certificates and local currency.
Minsok Rice Cake Shop is located widely inside Bakdal Market. Because it is on a corner, it stands out right away. It is on the main street of Bakdal Market, so it was easy to find. The rice cakes were lined up neatly.

The yakgwa looked incredibly tasty. One piece was 500 KRW, and if you bought a bundle, nine pieces were 4,000 KRW. The yakgwa looked so good that I picked up two.

There were so many kinds of rice cakes. The long garaetteok looked plump and cute. It would be delicious dipped in grain syrup, and I think it would taste nutty and great lightly grilled too.

Most packs were 3,000 KRW, so it was easy to choose without feeling burdened. I picked honey rice cakes, filled rice cakes, black sesame rice cakes, and yakgwa. My mom added one bag of tteokguk rice cakes because she needed to make rice cake soup. The tteokguk rice cakes are not displayed outside; if you ask, they bring them from inside.
There were really so many kinds that choosing was difficult. Looking back, the yakbap looked good too, and I keep thinking about the baekseolgi. I can see why people recommend this place for rice cakes in Anyang.

Rice cakes spoil easily, so I brought home only as much as we could eat. I was already excited thinking about eating them with milk at home. Rice cakes plus milk is my favorite combination.

I brought everything home neatly packed and plated only the amount I wanted to eat right then.

The honey rice cake was chewy and sweet, exactly my style. Black sesame was my top pick; it was chewy and nutty, and it paired perfectly with milk.

This one had sweet filling inside. The filling was nutty and sweet, so it was really good. All three kinds of rice cake I bought this time were a success.

I took the yakgwa to work the next day and enjoyed it. It was chewy and delicious. How is this only 500 KRW each? I thought it would cost at least 1,000 KRW. Anyway, it was chewy and honey-sweet. I will make the tteokguk rice cakes into rice cake soup next time.

I will keep using Minsok Rice Cake Shop in Bakdal-dong. I highly recommend it. If you have a reason to visit Bakdal Market, I recommend stopping by.
