Milbat Jebbangso Pyeongchon Bakery: Bread Pilgrimage Review
A personal review of Milbat Jebbangso Pyeongchon Branch, about 3 minutes from Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, with late hours, parking support, bread samples, and picks like Devil Bread, white roll, salt bread, cheese bread, and egg tart.

Hello, this is Ijjingne :) Today I went on a bread pilgrimage in Pyeongchon. It was a place I had wanted to visit for a long time, and when I happened to have something to do in Pyeongchon, I went right away. This is Milbat Jebbangso (밀밭제빵소) Pyeongchon Branch 👍

The location is near Pyeongchon Station! I came up through Exit 1 and walked for about 3 minutes, so it felt very close. For parking, the post says you can get 1 hour of support if you park on the 7th floor of the Pyeongchon Family Town building. Since it is not run together as a cafe and you are just buying bread and leaving, 1 hour seems like enough time. Business hours: 08:00-24:00 I love a bakery that stays open late. It would be especially useful when you suddenly need a cake at night or want to buy bread for the next day.

When you enter, trays, parchment paper, and tongs are prepared like this. Everything looked clean and well managed. I looked around while happily wondering which bread to choose.
I really liked that there were so many kinds of bread. They had nostalgic breads that felt like something from an old-school bakery, along with trendier breads that are popular these days. Because the selection was so varied, it seemed like a bakery that people of all ages could enjoy without many dislikes. The neatly packaged breads also caught my eye.

There were many kinds of loaf bread, cream bread, and sandwiches, so they looked good for an easy breakfast the next day. And then there was my favorite, salt bread! The salt bread is 2,800 KRW each, but if you buy 4, it is discounted to 10,000 KRW. I was curious about the other breads too, so I picked up just one salt bread.

And then there was Milbat Jebbangso’s famous signature bread: Devil Bread! It is the very dark-looking bread in the middle. According to the description, it has cream cheese and tapioca inside, giving it a chewy and savory flavor. I got one Devil Bread too! When you visit Milbat Jebbangso, you may think the prices are a little high, but to me they made sense. It was so delicious, and the pieces were large, so I felt the price was reasonable for what you get.

Another thing I liked was the sampling. Aside from famous breads that everyone already knows, like soboro bread and custard cream bread, the bakery had samples prepared for its signature breads and for breads where you might not know the flavor just by looking. Being able to taste a small piece before buying was really nice.

There was also a sale section. The breads there were made the previous afternoon, but if you are planning to eat them right away rather than keep them at home, that seems totally fine. Since they are discounted, it actually feels like a good thing.

There were many baked sweets too, and even nostalgic mammoth bread! Maybe I like this bakery even more because it seems to do a little bit of everything well.

There were many kinds of carefully made cakes as well. Roll cakes, sandwiches, and cream-filled breads that need to be refrigerated were all neatly arranged in the chilled display.

They also had white roll, which I really love, so I picked up one of those too.

At the checkout counter, there were simple one-bite breads as well. I thought about adding a financier, but I had already chosen too much, so I gave up. I will finish everything and come back to buy more next time.

Here is what I chose: Devil Bread, white roll, salt bread, cheese bread, and egg tart. The breads that were not already packaged were individually wrapped, and everything was placed in a paper shopping bag with that classic bakery feeling. The owner was also very kind, so I think I will visit again when I finish all the bread. Bread pilgrimage success 🥐🥨🍞
