Madang Barbecue Anyang: Ttogan-jip Pub, Seasoned Chicken Sold Out
Madang Barbecue is an old hof-style chicken pub inside Anyang Ilbeonga, featured on Pungja’s Ttogan-jip. On this visit, the seasoned chicken was sold out, so the order was calcium boneless barbecue, egg soup, chicken rice, and dark beer.
Hello, this is Ijjingne! When I heard that Pungja’s Ttogan-jip was doing an Anyang episode, I was curious which place would be featured. It turned out to be a place that made total sense. I used to go there often, so I was really happy to see it appear on Ttogan-jip. Madang is a barbecue place in Anyang Ilbeonga. It is an older hof-style pub, and the chicken is genuinely delicious.

The location is inside Anyang Ilbeonga. It is close to the main street, so it is easy to find. Business hours: 14:00-06:00. A real hof-style pub that stays open until 6 a.m. I used to come here sometimes for chicken and beer, and every time I visited, there were lots of people. This time, I visited at 8 p.m. on a Sunday and was able to sit because there was just one last table left. The Ttogan-jip effect seems pretty strong.

The classic hof-pub sofa seating. The inside is more spacious than it first looks, so if it is not peak time, the wait probably would not be too long. Before it appeared on Ttogan-jip, the crowd seemed older, but now it was full of younger people.

What was really disappointing was that the seasoned chicken was sold out. After Ttogan-jip, they said they were running short on the seasoned sauce. They did say that if you order hot chicken, they can give you a little seasoned sauce for dipping.

Calcium Boneless Barbecue Egg Soup Chicken Rice Dark Beer
I came because I was craving the seasoned chicken, so I decided to save fried chicken for next time and ordered the calcium boneless barbecue instead. I also ordered the essential egg soup. I heard chicken rice was a new menu item, and since I had not eaten dinner before visiting, I ordered one of those too.

For dark beer, I had only tried Kozel Dark before, and I am not sure what Madang uses. It had a slightly chocolate-like taste. Not really my style.

Even though there were many customers, the food came out relatively quickly. The boneless chicken portion felt a little small, but since we ordered sides, it was fine.

The chicken rice had teriyaki seasoning, and it tasted good when mixed together. Approved as a new menu item. The egg soup is that familiar flavor everyone knows. It feels like something is missing if you do not have it with seasoned chicken. I revisited because I heard Madang appeared on Ttogan-jip, and the chicken was still delicious. That said, the staff looked extremely busy, and it was very disappointing that the seasoned chicken introduced on Ttogan-jip was sold out. I should come back again after things calm down a little.
