Jeongipum Jjukkumi near Gwangmyeong AK Plaza review photo

Hello! Today I visited a jjukkumi spot near Gwangmyeong AK Plaza that people say is worth lining up for. I had only heard the rumors, but when I went on a weekday afternoon, there really was a wait. After about 20 minutes, I was able to sit down. The only waiting space is the chairs in front of the restaurant, so it may be better to browse nearby AK Plaza or look around the claw-machine room while you wait.

Jeongipum Jjukkumi location and hours near Gwangmyeong AK Plaza

The restaurant is near Gwangmyeong AK Plaza. Reported hours are 11:00-22:00, with break time from 16:00-17:00. Last orders are listed as 15:00 and 21:00. Since this is a place with a lot of waiting, keep that in mind before you go.

This area can feel a little complicated because there are many restaurants, so it may seem hard to find. But if you come by car, it might actually be easier. The restaurant is easy to spot from the entrance going down to the parking lot. I was searching to figure out where it was, and then I found it right at the parking entrance. After parking, I came up and found it quickly. Parking is supported for 2 hours, and TAKE Hotel parking is also possible. The Minsaeng Recovery Coupon is accepted.

Jeongipum Jjukkumi menu information with kids menu and lunch special

I could not take photos of the interior because every seat was full, but the restaurant felt spacious and clean. I heard that jjukkumi contains more taurine than Bacchus, so it is said to be good for fatigue recovery. Jeongipum Jjukkumi also seems good for families or visitors with children because it has a separate kids menu. There are various add-ins and side menus, so the overall menu is well set up for a family meal. There is also a lunch special menu, making it a good option for lunch.

Weekday waiting and ordering at Jeongipum Jjukkumi in Gwangmyeong

On weekday afternoons, there always seems to be a wait. I waited 20 minutes before going in, and after that there were three more teams waiting. Still, once you order the main jjukkumi menu, the food comes out quickly, so the meal itself does not take too long. It felt almost magical when it came out about one minute after ordering. Since it is a dish you stir-fry at the table, they seem to prepare it in advance, and you only need to wait for it to cook.

How to eat jjukkumi guide and refill information at Jeongipum Jjukkumi

There were instructions for how to enjoy the jjukkumi, so I tried it that way, and it was definitely good. Everything except the flying fish roe can be refilled for free. If you write a Naver receipt review, fried rice is provided as a service, and you can also download a Naver coupon for a flying fish roe refill, so make sure to check those before eating.

Hot-plate jjukkumi order and snowflake cheese fried rice at Jeongipum Jjukkumi

Order: hot-plate jjukkumi with plenty of add-ins for two, and snowflake cheese fried rice.

The basic side-dish setup was neat: flying fish roe, perilla leaves, seaweed, white kimchi, pickles, bean sprouts, and sauce. It was exactly the kind of spread that makes it easy to wrap and eat jjukkumi properly. I had also ordered steamed egg, but the staff told me in advance that one comes with the main menu, so I canceled the extra order. Getting steamed egg included was honestly great.

When the jjukkumi comes out and the pan heats up, a staff member stir-fries it nicely for you. They check it until it is fully cooked and let you know when it is ready to eat, which was convenient. There was plenty of minari on top, so the aroma was lovely, and it matched the jjukkumi really well. The red seasoning was clean-tasting and very delicious.

Jjukkumi wrap with black pork belly, minari, flying fish roe, and bean sprouts

Try this combination: perilla leaf, seaweed, jjukkumi, black pork belly, minari, flying fish roe, bean sprouts, and a little sauce at the end. It was such a good combination. Minari with pork belly and jjukkumi feels almost unfairly delicious.

Complimentary steamed egg served with jjukkumi at Jeongipum Jjukkumi

The fluffy steamed egg that came as a service was excellent. The portion was enough for two people, and the seasoning was just right, so it went well with both the jjukkumi and the fried rice. If I visit again, I might want one steamed egg per person.

Snowflake cheese fried rice ingredients on the hot plate at Jeongipum Jjukkumi

When most of the jjukkumi is gone, ask for fried rice. It tastes better if a little jjukkumi is still left. I chose the snowflake cheese fried rice. It was packed with ingredients such as rice, seaweed, perilla leaf, and kimchi. They stir-fried it well and pressed it onto the pan so the bottom became crispy.

Finished snowflake cheese fried rice with stretchy cheese at Jeongipum Jjukkumi

To finish, they added snowflake cheese on top. Since I had already eaten a lot of flying fish roe with the jjukkumi, I chose snowflake cheese instead of flying fish roe fried rice, and it was the best choice. The cheese stretched beautifully, and even though I felt completely full, I could not put down my spoon. A restaurant with a wait really does hit differently.
