Jedaero Jjamppong in Sanbon, Gunpo: Chinese Lunch Review
A lunch review of Jedaero Jjamppong, a Korean-Chinese restaurant in Sanbon Academy District, Gunpo, with gan-jjajang, jjamppongbap, fried dumplings, hours, and parking notes.

Hi! Today I visited Jedaero Jjamppong, a Chinese restaurant in the Sanbon Academy District. I was deciding what to eat for lunch and ended up choosing Chinese food. This place seemed to specialize in jjamppong, so I went to try it.

It is located inside the main street of Sanbon Academy District. The easiest way to think of it is behind NongHyup. 📍Hours Wednesday–Thursday: 11:00–20:30 Break time: 15:00–16:00 Closed every Tuesday 📍Parking If you are planning to shop at the nearby NongHyup, using the NongHyup parking lot seems like an option. Otherwise, there is a public parking lot near Sanbon Jeil Hospital, about five minutes away, so that also seems good to use. If it is not a crowded time, it looked like one or two cars could fit in front of the restaurant.

Gan-jjajang Samseon jjamppongbap Fried dumplings Drinks
We wanted to try both jjajang and jjamppong, so we ordered both. Since it was lunch, we went with jjamppongbap to make the meal a little more filling! Even a small tangsuyuk seemed like it might be a bit much for two people, so we ordered fried dumplings as the side. When you are eating jjajang and jjamppong, fried food cannot be left out.

The basic setting was danmuji, onion, and chunjang. I liked that the spoons and chopsticks were kept clean. Because we ordered fried dumplings, soy sauce also came out with the basic setting. For reference, vinegar and red pepper powder are placed on each table.

The crispy fried dumplings came out first. I had only eaten Chinese-restaurant fried dumplings by delivery before, but eating freshly fried dumplings in the restaurant was totally different from the taste I remembered. Delivery fried dumplings are often a little soggy, but at Jedaero Jjamppong in Sanbon, the dumplings had no sogginess at all. They were full inside and crispy outside. After eating one or two dumplings while waiting, the other dishes came out quickly too. They worked really well as an appetizer. 👍

I prefer gan-jjajang over regular jjajangmyeon, and the gan-jjajang here was excellent. The onion still had a good texture, and there was plenty of sauce, so it coated the noodles nicely. The rich jjajang sauce went really well with the noodles. The sign may focus on jjamppong, but the jjajang is delicious too!
Can you see how glossy it is? It was seriously thick and rich.

The jjamppongbap came as jjamppong without noodles, with the rice served separately. The portion was huge..! They gave plenty of rice, and there were lots of ingredients in the soup, so it felt like a very filling meal.

Meat, seafood, and even mushrooms! Everything tasted very fresh and chewy. There was a generous amount, so I was completely satisfied. The broth was clean and refreshing, and eating it together with the jjajang noodles made a perfect combination.

Jjajang + jjamppong + fried dumplings = 💙 I had this for lunch, and I still felt full until dinner.

Maybe because the area is full of academies, there are many customers during lunch and dinner peak times, and it is a popular spot. Still, there are quite a lot of tables and turnover is fast. If you are looking for a nearby Chinese restaurant, it would be worth visiting at least once. They also have cooked dishes, so it seemed good for a simple group meal or company gathering.

When eating gan-jjajang, I first paired it with jjamppong broth. Around halfway through, I sprinkled on red pepper powder to make it spicier. When it started to feel a little rich, the red pepper powder cut through it nicely, so it tasted just right. The crunchy onion texture was especially good here. I want to visit again, and I recommend it. . . . #SanbonChineseRestaurant #GunpoChineseRestaurant #GunpoRestaurant #SanbonJjamppong #SanbonJjajangmyeon #SanbonKoreanChineseRestaurant #GunpoJjajangmyeon #GunpoJjamppong #GunpoKoreanChineseFood
