Iga-ne Yangkkochi Pyeongchon: 2-Hour Wait Review
A personal review of Iga-ne Yangkkochi Pyeongchon, right by Pyeongchon Station Exit 1, after a two-hour wait. The reviewer found the lamb thick, tender, and worth it, with tips on the manual waitlist and late-night hours.
Hi! Today’s review is about Iga-ne Yangkkochi Pyeongchon Branch, where I ate after a brutal two-hour wait. Bottom line: it was worth waiting for. I was eating so frantically that I do not remember every detail, but among the lamb skewers I have had so far, these were the thickest and were delicious without any gamy smell.
The location is right in front of Pyeongchon Station Exit 1. It is on a corner, so it stands out clearly. Business hours are 17:00 to 05:00. Since it is open until 5 a.m., if your main goal is just to try it, you can come at a quieter time and eat without waiting.

This was the front of the shop on a weekday afternoon. There is no separate waiting area, just a few chairs in front of the restaurant. It gets extremely crowded only around dinner time, but if you want to eat exactly when you are hungry in the evening, waiting is basically required.

There is no Catch Table or waiting app. You need to write your name by hand in front of the shop. One tip: you can call before visiting to put your name on the waitlist. However, if they call your name when it is your turn and you are not there, your turn is skipped. They do not call you separately or wait for you. It really becomes a timing game, so if the time you plan to visit seems like peak time, I recommend calling 30 minutes to 1 hour before you arrive. They call names from the front of the shop, so at least one person should stay there and keep watch.

Once you go in, they first set up your small plate like this. Seasoned chicory also comes as a side dish, and it is spicy, tangy, and tasty.
Lamb ribs Sirloin skewers Large skewers Tomato and egg stir-fry
I wanted to try all the lamb options at Iga-ne, so I ordered all three. I also added tomato and egg stir-fry to have with drinks.

They serve the lamb ribs first. They seem to come out pre-grilled, and after bringing them to the table, the staff cut them up and place them on the grill. For the skewer items, the grill has to be changed to the rotating skewer grill, so they bring out the skewers after you finish the lamb ribs.

They cut the meat into large pieces, grill it nicely, and place it in front of you so it is easy to eat. They said they would bring the lamb skewers after we finished. We cleared it in five minutes. It was genuinely so good. The lamb melted in my mouth, to the point that I wondered whether lamb had always been this tender.

While we were eating the lamb ribs, the tomato and egg stir-fry came out. Why does it never taste like this when made at home? It was soft and packed with savory flavor. The portion was more generous than expected and was enough for two people.

The sirloin skewers and large skewers came out too, and these also arrive pre-grilled. Because of that, unless guests drink for a long time, the table turnover seemed fairly quick. They pair perfectly with Tsingtao, so definitely have them together.

They are big, right? Both the large skewers and sirloin skewers were good, but the sirloin was a little better. It felt softer. Honestly, when you are eating in a rush, it is hard to tell what is what, but either way, it is delicious. It just melts.

It was good enough that I forgot how long I had waited to eat it. Compared with other lamb skewer places, the biggest difference seemed to be the thickness and tenderness of the meat. It is also really good if you eat it with Cheongyang chili pepper on top. Still, waiting like this during peak time is something I would only do this once. Next time, I think it would be better as a second stop for drinks, when I can eat well without waiting. Since it is open late, I recommend trying it at least once.
