GL Golf Academy Gwangmyeong One-Point Lesson Review
A Gwangmyeong golf practice range review of GL Golf Academy in Iljik-dong, with one-point lesson notes, house clubs, 29 bays, left-handed bays, cafe, showers, lockers, and massage chairs.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Recently I had been losing interest in golf. I felt that if I kept going like this, I might quit golf completely, so I booked a one-point lesson at a nearby practice range. I heard there was one of the largest practice ranges in Gwangmyeong, so I went to check it out.

The location is Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong. It is close to Gwangmyeong Station (KTX), about 10 minutes away. Hours: 06:00-23:00. Saturday: 10:00-21:00. Sunday: 10:00-19:00.

GL Golf in Gwangmyeong felt clean and upscale from the entrance.

Information about time-based prices, events, and the pros was posted. Morning time was on promotion, so the price was much cheaper. If you can make time in the morning, the morning time looked like very good value.

This is the lobby next to the counter. They also run a cafe, so you can drink something and rest comfortably, and it is also a space for registration and lesson consultations.

For anyone curious about memberships, please refer to this.

The cafe menu was more varied than expected: coffee, tea, TWG, ades, and other drinks. I ordered a latte and tried it.

The latte was nutty and warm. What happens when even the coffee at a golf practice range is good? The price felt fine for buying one while practicing, so it was not burdensome.

Even the organizing area was very clean.

Since I had coffee, it was time to go practice. If you enter only the last digits of your phone number on the screen, you can choose the bay you want. I chose number 15. I had plans after the lesson, so I could not bring my caddie bag, but the house clubs were well maintained and I could take the lesson with them without a problem.

The spacing between bays was wide, and there were plenty of balls. They said the mats had been replaced recently, and they really looked new. The feeling of sweeping through was very good. There are 29 bays, including 2 left-handed bays.

I arrived earlier than my lesson time, and they gave me practice time first, so I could warm up and practice for about 20 minutes before the lesson started.
A beginner golfer's empty swing, still not knowing what is wrong. My biggest problem these days is a hook. I had sliced before, but I had never had such a consistent, steady hook. I had no distance, the ball kept dying, and I was just practicing alone while holding back the urge to quit. It was tiring, and nothing was changing.

That is why I decided to get a one-point lesson and visited GL Golf in Gwangmyeong. I received the lesson from Pro Park Hyun. After watching my swing a couple of times, he immediately pointed out the problem and explained it. When I followed his explanation, the ball went straight. I was so moved I almost cried.
He pointed out details one by one, including grip pressure, backswing angle, lower-body power balance, and hip rotation. Then that day, I recorded my longest driver distance ever. I have played golf for about a year and taken several lessons, but it was the first time a pro explained things this passionately and at my level.

When I practiced alone, my hook was severe and my maximum distance was about 150, but in practice after the lesson the hook was fixed and the distance went up to 170. It felt almost unbelievable.

After practice, I looked around and saw that GL Golf in Gwangmyeong even has changing rooms and shower facilities.

The facilities were almost hotel-level. Even if the indoor temperature is well controlled, you can sweat quite a bit after swinging continuously, so being able to wash up like this is very nice.

The number of lockers was on another level. I only photographed part of them, and there were more on the other side.

The most surprising thing was that there were three Bodyfriend massage chairs, and the lighting in the massage chair area was calm for comfortable rest. You can see that they care about each space, which may be why they have many members and seem to operate well.
The one-point lesson was truly excellent. I recommend Pro Park Hyun. After the lesson, he even sent me a summary of what I learned and useful swing videos by personal message. If you are looking for a golf practice range in Gwangmyeong, Anyang, or Mokgam, I strongly recommend Gwangmyeong GL Golf.
