Gunsan Agujjim in Seoksu-dong, Anyang
A personal review of Gunsan Agujjim near Seoksu Market in Anyang, with 10:00-23:00 hours, no parking, large monkfish stew with goni, side dishes, soju, and fried rice.
Hello, this is Ijjingne. Today I went out for my dad's soul food: agujjim, or spicy braised monkfish. This is a real favorite of mine that I have been visiting for about three years.
20 Seokcheon-ro 171beon-gil, Manan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do Hours: 10:00-23:00 Parking unavailable It is near Seoksu Market, and the source says it was a little hard to find.

The restaurant is on the Seoksu Market side. It is close to the Seoksu Telephone Office intersection, so you can find it with a map. Parking: There is no parking space in front of the shop. I parked at a nearby large market called Woori Mart, did some grocery shopping first, put the bags in the car, and then went to eat.

One photo was enough for me to call it a true neighborhood favorite. I remembered waiting almost every time I visited, so I called the shop about ten minutes before arriving. They kindly said they would hold a seat if we were coming soon, so we went in without waiting. From after we entered until we left, the waiting line never stopped. If you plan to visit, the writer recommends calling first.

Large agujjim with goni added One serving of fried rice
That was our order. Five of us visited, and with the large size plus goni added, we ate until we were completely full.

The kitchen, tableware, and overall feel were clean. Takeout and delivery also looked possible.

They set out the side dishes right away. Everything was seasoned well, and because agujjim is spicy, I really liked that they served egg jangjorim and salad with it.

My dad comes here for the skate. He says it is that good, though my taste is still a little childish for skate. They usually serve aged kimchi made in-house, but that day it had run out. Instead, they gave us well-aged gat kimchi, saying they had grown the mustard greens themselves. It felt touching because it seemed like something the owner had brought for themselves and quietly shared with us.

Hot seaweed soup and buchu jeon came out too. The pancake was chewy, crisp, and delicious.

The large agujjim looked overwhelming. There were plenty of bean sprouts, lots of added goni, and above all, a generous amount of monkfish.
The steam was rising from it. It looked so good.

My mom served me some agujjim. It was so hot that I let it cool before eating.

Soju felt essential. Dad had Original, the daughter had Fresh, and Mom drove.

Fried rice at the end was essential too. They fried it hard in the agujjim sauce, and it was seriously good. After eating the fried rice I felt like I might burst, then I kept sipping soju and got tipsy. Since I was with my parents, that felt allowed. It had been a while since I moved away, so visiting Seoksu-dong again brought back old memories. It was such a tasty meal, and I want to come again. #SeoksuDongEats #SeoksuDong #GunsanAgujjim
