Gunpo Geumjeong Somerang Gopchang Terrace Review
A Gunpo Geumjeong Station food alley review of Somerang, covering the two-person assorted gopchang set, makguksu, side dishes, terrace seating, Kelly beer, and friendly service.
Hello from Ijjingne. I heard there was a good beef gopchang place in the Geumjeong Station food alley, so I went to try it.
From Geumjeong Station exit 4, turn right into the first alley you see. You can spot it as soon as you reach the alley, so the access is great.

I came down from exit 5, passed the Tous Les Jours right in front, and turned right at the first alley. Either way, it is close. Geumjeong was packed early on a Friday evening, which made me feel the food alley energy.

As soon as we sat down, they set the side dishes: seasoned chives, scallion salad, pickled cabbage, seasoned tripe, and spicy bean sprout soup. The soup was seriously useful.

I went with my mom for a simple meal.
Two-person set Hanwoo gopchang, makchang, daechang, and special tripe Tasting-size makguksu
That is all we ordered. It comes with several kinds, and for two people at 50,000 won, the value felt pretty good.

Of course, we had a beer too. Kelly is the top pick for my mom and me. Maybe because we ordered Kelly, the apron was Kelly-branded too.

The impressive part was that you can eat on the terrace here. I wanted a terrace seat, but my mom did not want to sit outside, so we sat right next to it instead. There was a canopy overhead, and it felt perfect for the weather.

The food came out right after they brought the drinks. The owner cut everything nicely, told us the usual line to eat the heart first, and then left coolly. The portion was pretty generous, and I liked that they gave plenty of mushroom, potato, and onion.

When grilling gopchang, make sure to grill the seasoned chives and scallion salad together. The bean sprouts on the pan were not seasoned, so they mixed them with the chive salad for us. Grilling them together is the best.

Heart, gopchang, special tripe, and daechang all came out. I must not have photographed the makchang. The pieces had thickness and tasted fresh, so I kept reaching for more. Everything was good, but my top pick was the gopchang because it was full and nutty.

If you visit Somerang, make sure to try the makguksu. Buckwheat noodles, seasoning sauce, cool broth, and a pile of seaweed flakes cannot go wrong. Even the tasting-size makguksu is enough for two as a side, so I fully recommend it.

I had also been to the Somerang branch in Beomgye before and remembered enjoying it there too. Chain restaurants can be nice, and I was happy to find a closer Geumjeong branch. The staff checked whether anything was burning and refilled side dishes before we had to ask. The service was friendly, so I had a good meal. If you are looking for gopchang in Geumjeong, I recommend Somerang. #GeumjeongStationGopchang #GeumjeongStationHanwooGopchang #SanbondongRestaurant #GeumjeongStationRestaurant #GeumjeongGopchang #SanbondongGopchang #GeumjeongMakchang #GeumjeongGopchangHotpot #SanbonGopchang
