Gimpo Ddubadduba (뚜바뚜바) Day Glamping Review
A personal review of Ddubadduba in Gimpo for a same-day glamping trip from Seoul, covering weekend travel time, hours, no outside food, the on-site shop, BBQ, ramen, board games, and the tent setup.
Hi, this is Izzingne! Today we took a little outing to Gimpo. I am the kind of person who wants the camping mood but has no camping gear and cannot quite commit to real camping. So I went with friends to Gimpo, near Seoul, for a same-day camping trip.

I left Seoul at around 10 a.m. on a weekend. The navigation app first showed about one hour to arrive, but traffic got heavier as we got closer. In the end, it took about 1 hour 30 to 40 minutes. I recommend leaving with plenty of extra time.

Operating hours: 10:00-22:00 Last order: 21:30 Closed every Monday and Tuesday. Public holidays follow weekend pricing. Outside food is not allowed here. They sell meat, ssam vegetables, soups and stews, drinks, alcohol, snacks, ramen, and more, so you can basically just show up.

The campground was decorated so prettily. It is divided into Baba and Tuba sections, and there were several types of setups, including transparent shelters, private sites, and caravans. The transparent shelter seemed like it might be hot, so we chose a tent. The tent we reserved had a table inside and another table outside. The outside table had a light layer of dust, so we decided to eat inside.

We went into the shop where you can pick out food. After they checked the reservation, we chose meat, vegetables, and drinks.

There was a little dog that seemed like the mascot. They told us the name, but I forgot it. Sorry. The pup was feisty and cute, with that classic “a Maltese does not back down” energy.

We first heated up the grill that was already set up at the tent. We bought samgyeopsal, or pork belly, and moksal, or pork shoulder. We grilled the samgyeopsal first. I do not know if it was because the grill was good, but the meat cooked really well.

Even looking back at it now, that golden color was amazing. We cut it into bite-size pieces and ate the first round.

The campground had such a thoughtful touch. They filled a bucket with lots of ice for us. It was nice for keeping drinks cool, and while we were taking out cans to drink, we could also keep water in the bucket so the water stayed cold too.

The friends who had to drive drank non-alcoholic beer. My friend and I each had Asahi and a glass of Jim Beam. Day drinking in the middle of the afternoon felt so good.

There was a soft breeze, and while the inside of the tent was a little warm, it was still comfortable enough in a short-sleeved shirt. There were lots of flowers and greenery, so the whole campground looked pretty. There were also swings, hammocks, and a play area for kids. It felt like the place had been arranged with real care for guests.

Round two of meat started. We also bought Bibigo kimchi jjigae, and the owner lent us a pot so we could heat it up in there. If you need something, ask the owner. He was easygoing, and it felt like he would help with many basic things.

You cannot skip grilling kimchi with the meat. Kimchi has to be grilled when you are grilling samgyeopsal. We made sure to enjoy the grilled kimchi too.

A very satisfying table. Now it was time for dessert. Korean-style dessert, of course.

We bought two packs of ramen, moved some of the kimchi jjigae out of the pot, and cooked a whole pot of ramen. Seriously, why was the ramen so good? It must be the magic of eating it at a campground.

When we were buying meat, I noticed board games at the counter. There were about five or six kinds, and we chose Halli Galli. When we opened it, I was surprised because it looked completely new. It had been a while since I played with such crisp Halli Galli cards. After a fierce battle, I took first place. Anyone want to challenge me at Halli Galli? I am genuinely good. After that, we lazed around inside the tent, cleaned up, and left.

That was my review of Ddubadduba. It is convenient to visit from Seoul or the Gyeonggi area, and you can take care of everything inside. Since you only need to show up in comfortable clothes, I highly recommend Ddubadduba for anyone who wants to enjoy same-day glamping or same-day camping. I reserved a morning time slot, and it was enough time to eat meat, play games, lie down, and even take a nap. The facilities were clean and decorated nicely, so I think it would also be good for a day date.
