Geumgeum Starfield Suwon Weekend Open-Run Korean Food Review
A weekend morning review of Geumgeum at Starfield Suwon. Arriving around 10:15 after the 10:00 opening made it easier to get seated, though tables filled quickly, and the visit focused on two Korean noodle dishes.
Hello! Today I visited Starfield Suwon. Geumgeum is a place I had given up on before because it was always so crowded whenever I went. This time, I visited in the morning and was able to get in comfortably. It opened at 10:00, and I went in around 10:15, but there were already about three tables seated! Everyone was very fast, haha. The seats seemed to fill up quickly.

The location is inside the 7th-floor food court at Starfield Suwon. If you walk toward Megabox, it is on a corner. 📍 Hours 10:00 ~ 21:00 Break time: 15:30 ~ 16:30 Last order: 20:20 📍 Parking For parking, you can use the Starfield Suwon parking lot, and I think it was free for up to 6 hours. Even if you eat, watch a movie, visit a cafe, and shop, the parking time should feel plenty generous ><

There were plenty of seats inside, and the tables were spaced widely enough to feel comfortable. There were also baby chairs, so it seemed good for visiting with a child. There were partitioned seats too, so it looked nice for families who want a cozy meal together.

Bori-doenjang gogi guksu, barley doenjang meat noodles Deulgireum tongmil guksu, perilla oil whole wheat noodles
I was curious about the other menu items too, but since it was morning, I thought I might get too full. So I ordered only the noodle dishes that felt like the signature choices. I was especially excited to try the bori-doenjang gogi guksu!

The deulgireum tongmil guksu, or perilla oil whole wheat noodles, came out first. It felt similar to the kind of perilla oil makguksu many people are familiar with.

When I mixed it, I found meat inside. Mixing it together with the egg yolk made it blend well and taste even better. It also paired nicely with the jangajji pickles served as side dishes. After finishing the noodles, I mixed in the complimentary rice, but that part was not really to my taste.. haha. How should I put it? It tasted very mild, maybe a bit bland? It was much better eaten just as noodles.

Next was the dish I had been most excited about: bori-doenjang gogi guksu! I had seen many recommendations saying that if you like mazesoba, you should try it. The combination of well-stir-fried meat, tofu, and buchu was very good. It had a different flavor when eaten together with a piece of meat, and it was also fine on its own. It definitely had a feeling similar to mazesoba, but with a more Korean-style taste.

The bori-doenjang gogi guksu also went well with rice. For me, the savory flavor was even better with rice than with noodles! I had been quite curious about Geumgeum at Starfield Suwon, and I finally tried it by doing an open-run visit, haha. I am also curious about the mukeunji suyuk and the jeon dishes, so I should come back in the evening next time to try those. Since this is a place that always has a lot of waiting, I recommend arriving right at opening, like I did, if you want to eat without waiting! . . . #StarfieldSuwon #StarfieldSuwonRestaurant #SuwonRestaurant #StarfieldSuwonLunch #StarfieldSuwonOpenRun #StarfieldSuwonHotPlace #StarfieldSuwonRecommendation #StarfieldRestaurant #GeumgeumSuwon #StarfieldSuwonKoreanFood
