Eollungmal Sikdang in Sanbon for Sukiyaki
A lunch visit to Eollungmal Sikdang in Sanbon central shopping area, with fast sukiyaki, a yukhoe rice bowl, friendly service, solo seating, frequent waits, and a grapefruit ade review event.
Today I visited Eollungmal Sikdang in Sanbon central shopping area. It was a lunch break visit, so I needed to eat quickly, and the food came out fast. More than anything, the staff were so kind that it turned into a really pleasant meal.

Go up to the second floor of the building and it is easy to find. This place often has a wait, and I saw waiting chairs and a waiting list. There were also window seats that looked comfortable even for solo dining.

The menu is simple, with six items in total.
Beef brisket sukiyaki with udon noodles added Yukhoe rice bowl
I went with a coworker; I chose the sukiyaki and she chose the yukhoe rice bowl. We joined the receipt review event and received a grapefruit ade too. I had wanted a drink, so that was a nice bonus.

I noticed a cute little passage connected to the kitchen and took a photo. The wallpaper had a relaxed, warm feeling. They also had a baby chair for guests visiting with children, which was thoughtful.

Before the meal came out, they set the table. Since I ordered sukiyaki, I received a raw egg and ladle, while my coworker got mixing sauce for the yukhoe rice bowl. We planned to share, so we added another raw egg for 1,000 won.

The sukiyaki arrived first, and the amount of vegetables for one serving was surprising. I had not seen that kind of portion at other shabu-shabu or hot pot places. There was plenty of beef brisket too, so it was good for sharing.

As the vegetables softened and the pot bubbled, the broth tasted clean and mild. My coworker had been struggling after drinking the day before and said this broth helped. Pick up vegetables, mushrooms, and meat together, dip them deep into the egg, then follow with a spoonful of broth. It was simply delicious.

My coworker's yukhoe rice bowl came with half an avocado. After breaking the yolk and mixing everything together, it had a taste that really stuck. The rice was already seasoned well, so we did not need the extra sauce they gave us.

I also like nuts, and the little bits of nuttiness that came through while chewing fit my taste perfectly.

While we were eating, the udon noodles we ordered came out, so we added them right away and finished another bowl. If you want udon noodles, order them at the start; they take a little time because they are cooked before serving. Since they arrived after we had eaten some vegetables and meat, I actually liked the timing.

The grapefruit ade from the service event was not too sweet and had lively carbonation. Drinking it at the end felt refreshing. Fruit really does work as dessert.
Since it is in Sanbon central shopping area, it is worth a visit if you are nearby. There is a main branch on Anyang Daengnidan-gil, and I remembered waiting there for about an hour when I lived in Anyang, so I wanted to try this branch too. Note that waits happen often here.
