Dongking Norae Town in Beomgye: Clean Karaoke Bar Review
A personal review of Dongking Norae Town, a new bright and clean karaoke bar near Beomgye Station Exit 2 with reservable group rooms, snacks, fruit, pizza, and generous service time when no guests are waiting.

Hello! Today I visited a newly opened norae town, or karaoke bar, in Beomgye, and I liked it so much that I wanted to introduce it here. :) We were looking for a karaoke place for a second round and found that there were a few options in Beomgye. Dongking Norae Town seemed to be the newest one, and the facilities did not look dark. Instead, they felt bright and clean, so we picked this place and headed straight over.
The location is a 3-minute walk from Beomgye Station Exit 2! After passing Beomgye Rodeo Fountain, it is in the building on the right. The sign out front is big, so it is easy to find. Go down one level to the basement. From the entrance, it already felt very clean. Business hours: 18:00-08:00 Reservations are possible, and it can also accommodate groups. On weekends, it is popular, so I recommend calling ahead before visiting.

When you go down to the basement, a cute Shin-chan doll greets you. Unlike some other norae towns that feel dark, noisy, and full of cigarette smell, this place had a bright and clean feeling, which I liked even more.

Four of us visited, so we ordered two main anju dishes. The ordering system was set clearly by number of people, so we could choose without overthinking. At Dongking Norae Town, on weekdays or even public holidays, if there are no waiting guests, they keep adding extra time. The basic time is 2 hours, but when there are no waiting guests, they add plenty of service time. We visited on a weekday and there was no one waiting, and as soon as we entered, the timer was showing almost 600 minutes. They added time so generously that we were excited and joked that we could sleep there.

At first, they guided us to a regular numbered room. But while passing by, I said, 'Wow, there is a VIP room too!' Then the owner said, 'Then go in there!' So, unexpectedly, we got to hang out in the VIP room. It looked wider than the other rooms. I think they let us use it because it was empty, and I was very grateful.

Inside, there was a standing microphone, and even the table was sparkly. It was clean and comfortable with no cigarette smell. Because the atmosphere was bright, I think it would also be good for a party with friends.

Near the front of the shop, they had a large pledge posted. When I see things like that, it somehow makes me trust the place more. From a customer’s point of view, seeing those details written out feels reassuring.

The basic snacks come out simply. Rather than getting lots of side snacks that no one really eats, I preferred Dongking’s basic set, which includes popular items like snacks, popcorn, ramen, bingsu, and Americano. The ramen was Jin Ramen, which was great. Since the main anju portions are usually large and you often end up with leftovers anyway, I think this style is better. Whenever I go to a norae town, the main anju is usually generous, and the basic snacks often go to waste, so this was actually nice. Especially the bingsu! The red beans and roasted soybean powder tasted clean and nutty.

Pepperoni Pizza Dongking Seasonal Fruit
We had already eaten a filling first round, so we ordered lighter-feeling snacks. Since ramen was included, we skipped soup-style anju.

First, Dongking Seasonal Fruit! All the fruits were fresh. They sprinkled sugar on the tomatoes, and there were many varieties, so it was nice to pick and choose. I was happy that there was a lot of watermelon, which tastes especially good these days, but no matter how much we kept eating, the amount did not seem to go down. Fruit anju really is the best at a norae town.

Oriental melon, apple, watermelon, cherry, pineapple, orange, melon, and tomato. When I counted, there were 8 kinds! They were all sweet and delicious. The way the fruit was cut and plated was also so pretty.

The pizza came with cola, shrimp chips, hot sauce, and garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was such a great addition. The pizza also had plenty of cheese, so it was chewy and tasty. If you want something simple to eat, I recommend the fruit and pizza.

And the part I liked most was that Americano was included as a basic item. All the friends I went with like coffee, so we all enjoyed it. If you want to add more, there is an extra charge, but it was tasty enough that we ordered extra. It was not strong; it was a light coffee, and it went well while drinking.
We sang and hung out for about 2 hours before leaving, and it was so fun that we lost track of time. All the staff were kind, and the food was tasty. I think the standing microphone made it even more fun, and maybe because the karaoke facilities felt up to date, the sound was powerful and good. If I go to a norae town in Beomgye again, I think I will definitely come back to Dongking Norae Town.
