Hi, this is Ijjingne. Today I want to introduce one of my favorite outdoor-style drinking spots: Dokkaebi Jangteo, located near the entrance of Anyang Nambu Market.

If you enter Nambu Market, it is easy to find because it appears right away. It is on the left side of Gate 1. The source lists hours as 15:00 to 24:00, with every Sunday as a regular closing day.


Because it is in a market, there is a covered ceiling above, but the place still has a strong pocha atmosphere with tent-style seating. I wanted that outdoor-night-market mood, so I chose an outside table rather than sitting inside.

Inside, there are about five or six round tables. Outside, there are about three square four-person tables, and some can fit five or six people if chairs are added. You can choose indoor or outdoor-style seating, and because it is not fully outdoors, you can enjoy the atmosphere even in hot summer or cold winter.

I often eat the cheese whole chicken here, and this time I ordered half seasoned and half cheese. The cheese is a must because it forms a cheese nurungji crust that is seriously memorable.
The whole chicken and pork neck were cooking beside us, and they looked so good that I kept staring at them after ordering.

The chicken came out before the pork neck. I have only tried the cheese chicken, so I am not sure if this is always the case, but it came on a pan with a lid. They told us they would open it after a while, and after about five minutes, the owner came over and lifted the lid so the cheese stretched out.

The crust underneath was the key part. The source says this nurungji is amazing, so the cheese chicken is a must-order.

It was my first time trying the pork neck here, and it was chewy, clean-tasting, and tender. They topped it with plenty of green onion. I wrapped it in the provided ssam and dipped it in sauce, but eating it with the green onion was the best.

While eating the pork neck, I ordered bibim noodles without hesitation. The side dishes are good here too: the noodles were chewy, the sauce was sweet and tangy, and it paired especially well with a piece of pork neck on top.
If you visit, try the cheese nurungji whole chicken. For anyone looking for a good outdoor-style drinking spot in Anyang, the reviewer says this is the place to go.
