Deus Ex Machina Cropped Zip Hoodie Review: XS vs S Sizing
Two-month review of the Deus Ex Machina College Address cropped zip hoodie, including XS vs S sizing, store-buying tips at Shinsegae Gangnam, and Nuptse layering.
Hi! Today I’m finally back with a clothing review: the Deus Ex Machina cropped zip hoodie that a friend bought me as a birthday gift. This is my honest review after wearing it for about two months. I also included outfit photos with it layered under my The North Face Nuptse short jacket, so use them as a reference.

Lately, this Deus Ex Machina College Address Cropped Hood has basically become my uniform under padded jackets. The length, fabric, zipper, and hood size are all exactly to my taste. There isn’t a single part I dislike, and it has become one of my favorite pieces.

On the official site, the regular price is 178,000 KRW. Mine is size XS, so check the size chart if you’re comparing sizes. I honestly debated a lot between S and XS. I wanted it to fit neatly, but I was worried XS might be too short. After trying it on in-store, XS looked more fitted and prettier for my height.

On KREAM, only XS was listed, and the price changed often. When I checked again, it had gone up to around 250,000 KRW. But buying on KREAM would be a mistake! I called the store and they actually had the hoodie in stock. Even S and M sizes, which would require purchase bidding on KREAM, were available at the store.
My friend bought mine at Shinsegae Gangnam, and the store staff were so kind. My friend and I are almost the same height and body type, so she tried it on before buying it for me. She said the staff explained things well and told her that if the gift didn’t fit, I could come back comfortably for an exchange or refund. If you want to try it on before buying, I recommend calling the store before you go. If you buy it at the store, you can get it at the regular price of 178,000 KRW. Don’t overpay on KREAM!

They even included cute stickers. I’m going to stick them on my laptop.

The embroidery on the front and back is so pretty. When it catches the light, the thread sparkles a little with a silvery shine, which I also love. The fabric feels sturdy and slim. There is no brushed fleece lining inside, and the zipper is two-way. The hood is roomy enough, so it feels comfortable when worn.

Since it’s cold these days, I always wear it zipped up. When I sit down, the zipper at the stomach area doesn’t bulge out, so it’s comfortable.

The black color is easy to wear and goes with everything. Even though I chose XS, the sleeve length still looks roomy, right? It isn’t a super-tight crop; it’s a relaxed crop, so my stomach doesn’t feel cold. When I put it on under outerwear before heading out, it’s really warm and nice.

This is my The North Face Nuptse short jacket. I think this one is size S or M. I thought the hoodie would be good under this padded jacket, and the length and shape fit so well that they almost feel like a set. Because it’s a cropped zip hoodie rather than a regular hoodie, the sleeves don’t feel tight when worn with the puffer. Plus, the Nuptse doesn’t have a hood. If you wear the Deus hoodie under it, the hood comes out with a cute puffy look and works perfectly. There is also a regular hoodie with the same design as the cropped hood. It would be really cute as a couple item, so I recommend the Deus hoodie if you’re thinking about matching couple pieces.
