Chunli Malatang Near Anyang Station: Solo Meal Review
A personal review of Chunli Malatang between Anyang Station and Anyang 1st Street, with malatang, mala xiangguo, guobaorou, fried rice, free rice, spice-level notes, and a clean self bar.
Hi, this is Ijjingne! Today I visited Chunli Malatang, my favorite malatang spot in Anyang. I need my regular “mala recharge,” and this is the place I keep coming back to.

Hours: 10:00-23:00 Closed every Monday It is located between Anyang 1st Street and Anyang Station, on the old-road side. It is right in front of the crosswalk that connects Anyang 1st Street and Anyang Station, so it is easy to stop by.

The menu includes malatang, mala xiangguo, guobaorou, and fried rice. There are about four tables inside. There were a fair number of dine-in customers, and delivery orders kept coming in. When I visited, there were also lots of takeout and delivery orders—definitely felt like a popular spot.

If you have a peanut allergy, tell the owner in advance. I also liked that the country-of-origin information was displayed clearly in a large format.

At one side of the self bar, there is rice, and it is free. There were also pickled radish and extra sauces. I like adding more peanut sauce, and it was nice that it was prepared separately so I could add as much as I wanted.

The self bar was very clean. The ingredients looked fresh, and there were many options. Tie your hair back when using the self bar—must-do. My favorites were there too: cheese rice cakes, sweet potato rice cakes, and different kinds of noodles.

I usually build my bowl with mostly vegetables, mushrooms, and glass noodles. They had wide potato noodles shaped like lotus root, which I had wanted to try—perfect timing!

The meat is packed in bags, so you just take one bag at a time. After I finished choosing my ingredients, I noticed they also had shrimp. If I had seen it earlier, I would have added it. I usually do not add meat to my malatang, so I missed it.

I loaded up my bowl and handed it to the owner. I chose spice level 3. I had tried level 2 last time and it was fine, but today I was craving something spicier, so level 3 it was.

I want to try level 4 someday. My mom had level 2 and liked it. If you prefer a moderately spicy taste, level 2 should work. If you enjoy Buldak-level spice, level 3 is the one!

They also had a review event, so take a look. For takeout, malatang and mala xiangguo have a minimum order amount, so keep that in mind.

I also bought a cider. If you are eating in the dining area, you can take drinks from here. I love places that have zero cider.

The malatang came out after about five minutes. My broth looked redder and spicier. If the ingredients are cooked too long, they can get mushy, but the corn noodles were cooked just right and the glass noodles were chewy and tasty.

I saw crown daisy and tried adding it for the first time, and it was so good. I think I may only go to malatang places that have crown daisy from now on.

When I eat malatang in Anyang, I almost always end up at Chunli. It is my favorite malatang spot in the area. If you need a mala recharge, this is one to consider. #AnyangStationFood #AnyangStationMalatang #AnyangStationSoloDining #AnyangFood #AnyangStationMeals #Anyang1stStreetMalatang #AnyangMalatangRecommendation #Anyang1stStreetMala #Anyang1stStreetMalaXiangGuo #AnyangChunliMalatang
