Cheonggyesan Orimaeul Duck Grill Review
A source-grounded review of Cheonggye Orimaeul near Cheonggyesan, covering the whole duck charcoal rotating grill, posted hours, parking in front, side dishes, free duck soup for meat orders, and pot rice finish.
Hi, this is Ijjingne. Today I went out with my parents for a restorative meal. We looked around the nearby Cheonggyesan area and heard there was a good Uiwang duck jumulleok spot, so we visited Cheonggye Orimaeul.

The posted hours are 11:00 to 21:30, with break time from 16:00 to 17:00 and last order at 20:30. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, so we parked comfortably. The exterior stands out and the sign is large, making it easy to find.

Order: one whole duck charcoal rotating grill.
I originally came after seeing duck jumulleok, but I had never seen a rotating duck grill before. It looked interesting, so we chose one whole rotating duck grill. One duck was 64,000 won. Just the duck might feel short, but meat customers receive duck soup for free, and with rice it was enough for four people to feel full.

When the rotating grill is not being used, the lid stays closed. When you order the rotating grill, staff add charcoal and set everything up.

The side dishes came out like this. There were many sides to wrap with the duck, and more could be taken from the self-service bar. I think I refilled the pickled radish wraps three times. Duck with ssammu is hard to resist.

There was thinly sliced cabbage with mustard sauce, and it was also tasty with the duck. Maybe because the meat itself was good, even dipping it only in salt made it feel tender.

The charcoal was placed neatly, and the meat came out right away. The duck pieces were thick and large.

A chewy duck heart skewer was included too. You place the inner skewer part into the rotating plate and set down the handle to lock it. The owner explained how to do it and inserted everything for us at first.

The skewers rotated well and cooked evenly. The browned color looked great, and the outside turned crispy, almost like it had been fried.

When the duck is done, there are plates on both sides where you can remove the cooked meat. Press the skewer against the plate and pull it back, and the meat comes off easily.

Mushrooms and onions are grilled on the plate. The plate also gets some heat, so a little meat cooks there too. Once everything is done, bring it to your small plate. Duck wrapped with ssammu and chives was the best combination.

With food this good, drinks were hard to skip, so we mixed somaek too.

After finishing the skewers, we asked them to remove the charcoal and the duck soup came out. It had perilla and tasted clean and good. We ordered pot rice so we could finish it with the soup.

We ordered only two pot rice servings to share. The owner brought well-cooked pot rice, moved the rice into bowls by hand, and poured in water. We finished with duck soup and pot rice and went home full. Cheonggye Orimaeul also has duck jumulleok, duck roast, braised duck, and other duck dishes, so it felt like a true duck specialty restaurant. #CheonggyesanRestaurant #CheonggyeDongRestaurant #UiwangDuckRestaurant #CheonggyeDuck
