Celine Bag AS Review: Edge Tear, Edge Paint, Handle Quote
A personal Korea Celine after-sales repair review covering a torn folded edge, lifting edge paint, handle dents, the quote process, and a two-month repair through Galleria Gwanggyo.
Hello, I’m back with a second Celine after-sales service review. In Korea, this kind of repair service is often called “AS.” Yes, it tore again. At this point, I’m wondering if I’m just too rough with my bag, but it keeps tearing, and it feels like such a waste of money and honestly upsetting. I’m sharing the details here for anyone looking for information. https://blog.naver.com/ejn1116/223475586056
That link is my first repair review for the Celine vanity bag. The issue then was similar to this time, but the quoted cost was different, so if you’re curious, please check that review too.

First, as you can see, it tore very cleanly. That section folds back when the zipper is opened. I think tiny creases formed while opening and closing the bag, built up over time, and then at some point it ripped.

Still, how can it split so straight like a knife cut? The sales associate said it happened from opening and closing the bag, but then how am I supposed to use a bag if not by opening and closing it?

There were also several small dent marks on the handle, and if you look at the corners, the edge paint was lifting again. I really do not understand the edge paint issue. It had only been about one year since the AS repair, and it tore again. The three repair requests were: - tear on the folded back part of the bag - lifting edge paint - handle dents I visited Galleria Gwanggyo, the store where I had bought the bag, to request these repairs.
First, I showed the bag to the sales associate. When I said the edge paint had been repaired last time but was lifting again, they checked the record and said they would pass that along. For the handle, they said the dent marks alone probably could not be handled as a simple AS repair, and it would likely proceed as a handle replacement. For the tear on the folded section, the sales associate also was not sure and said they would need to send the bag in to know. They said the repair period could take up to about three months. Last time, it had been handled as an urgent repair, so I asked if they could do that again. They said that is only possible when the workload is light, but they would send it first and try to proceed as quickly as possible. They also said the price could only be decided after sending the bag in, and that they would text me.

About three days after sending the bag in, I received a text from the sales associate and checked the quoted cost. I also saw that Celine had sent an email. They gave the amount for each item. I did not proceed with the handle replacement because it was too expensive. Last time, they charged me for the edge paint repair. This time, maybe because they were repairing the same area again, it was free. Honestly, if the edge paint repair had not been free, I was ready to complain.

I also received an email with the total amount. After that, you just tell the sales associate which parts you want repaired, and they proceed according to your choice. The repair period took exactly two months. I dropped it off on September 1, and they said it was finished on November 1. This time it took so long that I was pretty annoyed. For a bag bought at a high price, having AS take two months as the default feels rough. They initially said three months, so maybe two months was at least fortunate.

After receiving the text, I visited Celine again. I went on a weekday, but there was still a wait. Even so, I got inside after about 5 to 10 minutes.

The handle came back as it had been, and the edge paint and the tear on the back section were repaired well. I did not do the handle repair because it was expensive. I did regret that a little, but I also thought I would just carry it reasonably, maybe sell it secondhand later, and buy another bag.

Celine... truly a love-hate Celine for me. It is beautiful, but it is a brand I do not want to buy again. They told me to be careful when opening and closing the bag, and also to be careful not to let the edge-paint areas rub against anything.

It came back looking clean, but I was upset that I could not carry it for two months, and it was tiring to keep going in for AS. I guess I just have to carry it carefully. But I use my other luxury bags the same way, and none of them have ever torn or dented like this.

It is pretty, though. Note to self: carry it carefully. If you’re curious about the details, please leave a private comment.
